Bob Beckel Threatens Rumsfeld With Violence
Monday, September 4, 2006 | Kristinn

Posted on 09/04/2006 7:40:00 AM PDT by kristinn

Democrat Bob Beckel threatened Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld with violence today in a discussion on the Fox News Channel about Rumsfeld's speech last week relating the war on terror to World War 2.

Beckel said if Rumsfeld weren't Secretary of Defense and had federal protection, he'd "kick the dog out of him."

Beckel joined a growing number of Democrats who have reacted viscerally to Rumsfeld's remarks, even though Rumsfeld did not single out the Democratic party nor did he name any current Democrats as appeasers.

"Why do all democrats inevitably start looking like ted kennedy?"

I'm assuming you're not familiar with the story [or movie] "The Picture of Dorian Gray", then?....;D

Beckel has been pounding nails into his own coffin lately. He got caught hiring a prostitute who tried to blackmail him. She serviced Beckel, who bragged about his high-powered consulting business, and she decided to shake him down. She wanted $50,000 to keep quiet about a sex-for-hire arrangement with Beckel. He wanted the police to charge the prostitute for blackmail but keep his name out of it. But when his involvement in the case was publicized, he lost a lucrative consulting contract and a job as a paid commentator on CNN. Embarrassed and humiliated, he's threatening to sue the police for letting his name emerge in the case.

Bob Beckel Threatens Rumsfeld With Violence

...Conditionally.

Well Bob Beckel has certainly advanced the public debate and level of discourse with his trenchant observations. Isn't that why were love the Democrats? Their intellectual superiority and elevated moral tone?

I agree with you. I like Bob Beckel. He tends to be reasonable. I'm willing to bet that strident moonbats get to moderates off screen and read them the riot act. Then some crack under it. Juan williams has talked about his fellow lefties who do not respond well to his more moderate positions. Tammy Bruce has had a lot of say about it, too.

Rumsfeld is all about power of the military pork.

Murtha is upset because Rumsfeld is able to kill off pork waste and it hinders his "power".

Why are democrats resoting to a PARLEMENTARY GOVERNMENT stund in a Representative Democracy?

The answer goes back to the Jimmy Carter years.

Carter was such an abysmal failure they seriously considered spliting the presidency up into multiple jobs. Something like a president, and a prime minister, and a military minister.

This rumsfeld sanction effort is an effort to put CONGRESS IN POWER TO HIRE AND FIRE the Secretary of Defense. WHY? because the secretary of defense can make or break military pork (say hello Mr. Murtha)

Democrats are upset Rumsfeld is hurting their PORK PROJECTS! This is not about security this is about PORK.

Democrats know their power is fading, so they are trying to make the US government more "parlement" style to allow for their version of a "shadow" ministry ala england.

I don't see this as a threat either. But it was certainly ill-advised. It may help his stock with his fellow dems, but not reasonable people. Hopefully, it will motivate him to take stock of his beliefs and how they play out.

What if Ann Coulter had said it ?

Then the left would overreact. We are better than that. Beckel is a pathetic man. His abuse of alcohol and drugs, and sexual perversions have destroyed his family and left his life in a shambles. I can only hope he finds the Lord before it is too late for him.

Beckel's an over-the-hill jock gone to fat and false bravado. His double-talking 'tough' leftist mouth is going to land him in serious trouble one of these days. It's pretty easy to judge the IQ of anyone in the public eye who pays for a hooker with a credit card.

I think Bob Bechel spent some time in rehab.

He may be backsliding.
He was so sympathic to Patrick Kennedy.

I'm beginning to believe there is a class of 98 - 99 sleeper-troll contingent here at FR.

I've noticed that too.

I totally agree.

What I find dismaying is that the republicans do not make a political issue of this. Sure, they share some of the guilt, but democratic Homeland security means union jobs with union dues going to the criminal enterprise called the democratic party.

Vicious rhetoric like that spouted by Democrats in recent months could easily lead to real violence.

Kicking Beckel's ass wouldn't be anything, just pin-prick a hole in the gas bag and all the bravdo rushes out, then you're left with an empty suit just like the majority of democrat appeasement/surrender monkeys.

Funny how Democrats are willing to go to war with Rumsfeld but not with terrorists?
