Democrat Bob Beckel threatened Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld with violence today in a discussion on the Fox News Channel about Rumsfeld's speech last week relating the war on terror to World War 2.
Beckel said if Rumsfeld weren't Secretary of Defense and had federal protection, he'd "kick the dog out of him."
Beckel joined a growing number of Democrats who have reacted viscerally to Rumsfeld's remarks, even though Rumsfeld did not single out the Democratic party nor did he name any current Democrats as appeasers.
I sent him a little love note as well....

Where do you get off threatening violence against the SecDef? He may be 5 years your senior but I would be willing to bet you would come out of that altercation needing a ride to the ER. Why is it the Liberals, when confronted, come off looking like rabid dogs? You went totally off your nut with Ann Coulter last November. I don't hear the Republicans threatening violence, killing, assassination. Tough talk, yes. Actual threats of actual violence, no. The libs are way out on a thin branch these days, mentally. I think it is totally irresponsible.
After all, if murders say "a violent video game made me do it," how much more is it likely to trigger just one person who thinks assassination/ etc. IS a good idea?

Why do conservatives continue to give Beckel and others like him any airtime at all? I've even heard Hannity remark that Beckel is a friend of his! How is that possible? Wasn't Beckel the guy who intended to subvert the electoral college after the 2000 election?
He's a nut case anyway...anything he would do wouldn't surprise me...he needs to locked up to protect himself from his thoughts....

Both stories are accurate. After threatening the electors, the outrage was so loud and fierce, he had to go into hiding with police protection. He later apologized for it (making a special plea on Hannity's show) and became a "Christian." Looks like he's off his meds again...

A year or so ago on FOX's "Dayside" he basically used the same words to a male audience member, during the Q and A portion.....they dude shoved it right back in his face and told him he'd enjoy nothing more than to have Beckel make the attempt - I think he even offered to give him his address!
