A passenger revolt occurred on a Malaga-Manchester flight. Vacationing Brits refused to fly with two Arabic-speaking men. This came in the wake of arrests of 21 British-born Muslims who were plotting to blow up as many as 11 trans-Atlantic flights.
A spokesman for Britain’s opposition Tory party said the passengers panicked into “behaving irrationally.” Fancy that, not wanting to fly with members of a faith whose adherents keep trying to blow things up. Oh, how irrational!
Within days of this incident, a Lebanese student was arrested for trying to plant bombs on German trains. In India, meanwhile, a group with alleged ties to al-Qaeda threatened to blow up the 17th century Taj Mahal.
If Muslims make travelers nervous, it’s not without cause.
Would you be more likely to have an anxiety attack at 20,000 feet if the passenger seated next to you was: A) An Irish nun saying the Rosary? B) A Mormon missionary in regulation white shirt and narrow, black tie? C) A Hari Krishna in a standard-issue saffron robe? or D) A bearded bloke of Middle Eastern complexion holding a well-thumbed Koran?
When you hear of a terrorist incident, is the first thought that pops into your head: Probably some crazy Muslim? Guess what? It probably was some crazy Muslim!

He should have said simply "Muslim". By a Muslim's lights, the behavior we call crazy, they call Jihad. The Muslims who really do believe in peace must be apostates.
Reason #1 the Koran!
Reason #2 Mohammad
Reason #3 Oh I don't know....all the passages about killing Jews and Christians if they don't convert.
Title: MIGHT NOT??? Could there even be some question?
"A spokesman for Britains opposition Tory party said the passengers panicked into behaving irrationally.
The Tories are the British Conservative party. Looks like they pander and play the "PC" game much like many of our beloved Republicans.
Look at some of the small "incidents" that have happened so far, (Seattle Jewish Community Center, Popal in Fremont and San Francisco), it is already here.
What about the massive disposable cell phone buys that were in the news a month ago? The police are not here to protect you, but rather to clean up after the fact, and fill out the nice reports, and talk to the reporters.
Do you know if Muslims live in your neighborhood? Is it wrong for us to take notice of potential problem areas living among us?
Some acquaintances call this concern paranoid, hysterical, over reacting, what do you think?
Are you going to be ready when jihad comes to the USA?
It's sufficiently clear that we cannot allow I-slam in its present form in America forever. The three choices most countries are going to have with I-slam are 1 - submit to it, 2 - ban it, and there might possibly be a third choice of devising some safe version of it which to allow and ban the rest but, it seems to me that if you're going to go to that much trouble, you may as well simply face the music and ban it. I am in favor of banning the practice of I-slam in America at this point.
Actually, the ones I truly feel sorry for are the Christian Arabs, who escaped those Muslim crazies to come to the West. They came to the West to get away from those loonies -- some basically escaping only with the clothes on their back. Now they are given nasty looks by Americans, because we think that they are the very Muslim crazies that they escaped from. Essentially, they inadvertantly get victimized twice.
I am just as guilty of this -- when our Arab neighbor first moved in, my first thought was "sleeper cell". He's is mid-thirties with an American wife & two great kids. (He's been in the US since he was a baby.) When he said that he was "Christian", I thought "yeah, right". Then I met his father-in-law -- an ex FBI agent who worlked on the first WTC bombing, and I said "OK. He is fine, he is what he says what he is." Now, we just love the guy and his family and I feely crappy for ever having doubted him!
It's already been here, in force.
Caution is a virtue, these days, B. Drop the 'crappy' stuff. It doesn't *wear well* on anyone's sleeve.
We have been having trouble with Muslims a little more recently than that.
And the supposedly "moderate" Muslims are either intimidated into failing to denounce and/or control their radical terrorist brethren, or they are complicit by silence.
Until CAIR and other Muslims denounce the terrorists in their own house -- instead of whining about persecution every time they open their mouths -- unfortunately most Muslims in the West will be viewed with suspicion.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you signed up just today thinking you would find some clever thing to say to expose how uninformed Freepers were, but you just couldn't hold your water.
"Last chance America. Put this on now or we will put it on for you."
Those "spokesmen" and religious leaders certainly have whined about persecution at every conceivable opportunity, and that has been heard loud and clear on the TV and radio and published in the papers. In fact, every time a Muslim commits a terrorist act, CAIR and its ilk have been interviewed and . . . have whined about potential "backlash" rather than condemning the acts. The best I have ever heard some imam manage to say is, "we condemn these acts, BUT . . . " and then go on to trash the West and justify the terrorists' conduct.
If they had used those many, many opportunities to condemn Islam as a justification for terrorism, I would be a lot more sympathetic. They have utterly failed to do so, therefore I am left with the alternatives that (1) they have been intimidated into silence; or (2) they are complicit.
