Nagin Attracts Media But Few Investors
Promotional event mostly ignored

NEW YORK -- New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin certainly attracted the notice of the press in the nation's media capital during his short stay in New York.

It's hard to say, though, how many of the people he was really after -- big investors in the country's financial hub -- paid much attention to what New Orleans officials billed as the first stop on an as-yet uncharted "economic development tour."

Few of the visitors to the two-day affair, held at Tribeca Cinemas in the trendy downtown neighborhood that used to be home to the World Trade Center, were members of the target audience of would-be investors or tourists. Those who came were mostly journalists, people affiliated with the event itself or, in a few cases, business owners looking to pitch their own products.

I can't think of many Fortune 500 companies that would be interested in moving to NOLA. A few have moved out, tho.

I have so much disgust and hatred for this racist clown, I'd better not say anything. You can *guess* what I'm thinking...

Economic developement, eh?

Courting investors to speculate in swamp land and below sea-level properties "on or near the water" and he's not getting any bites?

Nagin has reduced himself to the level of a realty scam-artist. Come to think of it, it's a step up for the man.

"People want to give me money, man," a grinning Nagin said this week, adding that he's turned down some invitations to far-flung fund-raisers. "I'm just taking it. You want to give me some money? I'll take it."

The first step toward NO recovery cannot start until Nagin is out of office.

Of course if he is replaced with one of the crooks from the Landrieu family that will extend the one city depression further into time.

Ray Nagin, William Jefferson and the entire Congressional Black Caucus will not attract any business investment. New Orleans now joins Detroit and Cleveland as the dregs of USA cities, all run by supposed Black "leaders" that could not lead a cow out of a barn. Couple the NOLA incompetence with the Democrat "slavery" leaders in Louisiana, Kathleen Blanco, Mary Landrieu and you have
team ZERO. Yep, a bunch of Black "Racists" and Democrat "Slavery" vermin. What a combination. And....it really is a shame, because there are thousands of capable and dedicated Blacks that could lead these cities to growth, opportunity and prosperity, but there are none in the present group of Black leaders at all, just racist, America haters, socialists and communists. Black Americans should be ashamed of what, they themselves, have brought upon themselves. Fools, sorry to say!!!

So who would you have voted for in the recent election for Mayor (or who did you vote for)?

Just curious who was the lesser of two evils here.

From an outsider's point of view it seems unbelieveable that Nagin was re-elected.

On a related note, perhaps someone will post the NY Times News Service article (reprinted in today's Ventura County Star but not on their website) about comedian/magician Harry Anderson leaving NO after 6 years. Nagin's reelection was the last straw for him and he says "This city hasn't evolved. I just feel this place is stuck on stupid." A sad but good article.
