"How about him coming on and explaining why he waited three years while people were being personally destroyed and bankrupted."
"Maybe after you appear before a grand jury and are told by the prosecutor not to talk about the case, we will see how brave you are. In Novak's defense he did say early on it was NOT someone in the White House and was not a gunslinger so that eliminated Rove and Libby as primary sources of the leak. I guessed Armitage right after I read Novak's second column. Most others in Washington probably did as well."
I was a member of a grand jury. You can request that witnesses not talk but you cannot demand it. You have a legal right to reveal your own testimony.
Armitage could have spoken up many times. He did not because he is not an honorable man. Neither is Colin Powell.

#489, you are both right in a way. They cannot make you keep your mouth shut, but let's be honest if you disobey their orders, they can make it very hard for you using their Power, especially if you are ever in a situation where you or a family member must face them in Court, and they use their discretion or not. Like a Police Officer that you beat for a ticket in Court and you laugh about it,later on you still have to drive your vehicle and he will be waiting. Most any Police Officer can follow someone only about two or three blocks before they make some kind of a traffic violation that would get them a ticket. It is all about discretion.

(9/11 was not “the day everything changed”, but the day that revealed how much had already changed.)
