Turns out he(the sponsor of the soldier on Rush) was a former High school principal who got his friends and neighbors to go on a clothing drive and they came up with 60 boxes of clothing that were sent to Iraq for the Iraqi people who have lost all if not most.

I have been wondering if maybe we could have a clothing drive for Iraqi citizens here on FR but I really don't know how to go about it. (I do know where some tee shirts are hiding however.)

"But a manly journalist would have stepped right up to the podium and asked that very question."

'Scuse me, but I've come to consider the term "manly journalist" to be a gross oxymoron.

Those turkeys in the MSM couldn't detect, let alone report, a straight news story without hanging some political slant on it if it grew teeth, jumped up and bit 'em on the butt.

Good point and when I say he lied because of his loyalty of course I mean if he lied it was because of his loyalty.

In any event, I hope God does not smile on these idiots in November.

Every conservative and Republican needs to go out and if necessary hold their nose, but by all means vote into power a Republican controlled Congress. IF the Dims take over we are in for the ride of your life - I am not sure which will come first - withdrawal from Iraq or Impeachment.

How about him coming on and explaining why he waited three years while people were being personally destroyed and bankrupted.

Maybe after you appear before a grand jury and are told by the prosecutor not to talk about the case, we will see how brave you are. In Novak's defense he did say early on it was NOT someone in the White House and was not a gunslinger so that eliminated Rove and Libby as primary sources of the leak. I guessed Armitage right after I read Novak's second column. Most others in Washington probably did as well.

I don't fault or question your service.  I can only comment on what I have read and seen for as many years watching what happens in these agencies.  Maybe it's the sqeaky wheel syndrom but we don't read about State employees doing their jobs right, just the instances where they undermine foreign policy as stated by the WH and Administration.

Almost all of the people I know who were agency employees have been apolitical.  The problems happen when we have a Plame or Armitage in positions where they change into partisans with an agenda.  Every administration I have read about complains about the same things going on.  Nor is it restricted to any one agency.  Deep Throat, number two at the FBI proved that.

The information you provided, at least I think you did, a few months ago indicated the Clinton staffers who got career service jobs went mostly into Justice and Energy.  Both of these are troubling to me.  One because of past Justice employees not going after people who break laws and Energy because of the nuclear secrets that keep finding their way to China and other countries.  If a conservative leaks and betrays the country I have no problem going after them too, but it drives many of us nuts when liberals seem to get away with this behavior without being held accountable. Or, getting a simple slap on the wrist: Sandy Berger.

They can't clear out anyone who is occupying a career position except by abolishing the job [RIF], which still allows the individual occupying the job to "retreat" to other positions.

My point exactly.  There should be ways of getting rid of bad employees.  OMHO, the government unions have replaced the old Boss system and are just as bad.

What specifically has Condi done to "clean house?"

I cannot say because I don't know what Ms. Rice has done.  I do know we are not hearing about the leaks and the opposition in the State Department that we heard about over and over during the Powell tenure.  It also appears our State Department is more effective today, by comparison.  For example, during the Israeli actions in Lebanon we did not hear any hangwringing coming from "sources" in the State Department.  In years past, that would have been front page news.

Yes, the DNC Persecutor Fitz, told only those from the Admin to not speak out, of course he and his smear machine from the DNC were consistently lying to the public, how very convenient!

Biden is outraged that this war in Iraq will soon have lasted longer than WWII.

You would think the press or a Republican would remind the world (and the slimeball) that Germany and Japan took six years to create democracy and peace, and that we had troops there for 60 years. We're way ahead of schedule in Iraq by comparison.

Libby only one indicted, because he lied.

Perhaps not. Watching the Prosecutoral misconduct in the Rush Drug case and the Duke Rape case I think people should be really careful about assuming guilt because someone is indicted. I suspect Libby said a couple of things and then later said something that seemed to contradict it, or that was contradicted by later records and Fritz just choose to make his the sacrificial goat to appease the Junk Media wolf pack.

It is entirely probable that Libby is being prosecuted for making a simple mistake in his testimony. Since the Libby prosecution is in no way relevant to the supposed crime under investigation, a serious prosecutor would of dismissed the case. Especially since the supposed crime turned out to be not a crime at all.

From start to finish this is a manufactured political persecution. Plame was not covert, no one "leaked" her NOT secret identify. Thus no crime. There should of been no prosecution.
