Okay folks, another hard hitter by Linda Kimball. If she were a sport, she'd be archery that hits the bullseye with a very sharp arrow point.

BTW, she has a blog and here is the url: http://lindakimball.wordpresscom/

There's no doubt that Schwarzenegger really wimped out to score points with voters who are economically conservative but left wing on everything else. I don't think that he really believes in the bill that he signed, but took the advice of his skittish staff. If I'm not mistaken, his Chief of Staff is a liberal Democrat.

He made a terrible mistake. However, what do you think would happen if Phil Angelides were Governor?

Until the advent of Christ---creator of mankind and Author of individual and political freedom---history was essentially a dog-eat-dog world. It was a ‘survival of the fittest’ world in which the common man dwelt in fear and submission to his government. Power flowed from the gods and goddesses to predatory kings, emperors, and monarchs and then they did whatever they wanted and told the people what they could or could not have in terms of freedoms and privileges.

I'm sure that a Roman or Athenian would have been surprised to hear that.

Nowhere in the world but in America do “we the people”---empowered by our Creator---tell the government what it is allowed to do.

I'm sure that Canada would be surprised to hear that.

California Conservatives, please, stand up for Conservatism and rid us of this communist wolf dressed in sheeps clothing. Don't stay home on election day and don't vote for Ahnold because he has an "R" beside his name.

Ahnold supports:
1. Abortion
2. Gay Marriage/Civil Unions
3. Big Government
4. Socialized Medicine
5. No morality in schools
6. Secular Humanist Adgenda
7. Higher Minimum Wage
8. Higher Taxes
9. Ignoring the Constitution

Vote for a candidate for governor who will stand up for Conservative Values.

Ed Noonan the American Independen Party Candidate supports:
1. The Right to Life with No Exceptions
2. Marriage Between one Man and one Woman Only
3. Small, Constitutional Government
4. Free Enterprise
5. Morality and our nation's Christian Heritage
6. A Conservative, Christian Adgenda
7. An end to Illegal Immigration
8. Lower Taxes, i.e. Elimination of the Income Tax
9. Defending the Constitution and always following the letter of the law.

Vote for down the ballot Republicans. For Governor Vote for Ed Noonan.

Those who find Arnold a disappointment should reflect on what a Rudy Guiliani - even less a "conservative" than Arnold - would do if he became President.

To: little jeremiah; All

Many references were made in the post to religion. Will my fellow FReepers forgive me if I deliver a biblical homily that clearly illustrates how the early Christians discovered why communism (small "C") was inimical to the human nature we all share?

Acts 2:45 begins...

"The faithful all lived together and owned everything in common; they sold their goods and possessions and shared out the proceeds among themselves according to what each one needed."

Socialist or communist Utopia -- Right? Let's allow for the passage of time and experience and scroll forward to Acts 5:1ff.

"There was another man, however, called Ananias. He and his wife, Sapphira, agreed to sell a property; but with his wife's connivance he held back part of the proceeds, and brought the rest and presented it to the apostles."

This biblical episode simply but clearly shows why such communal efforts to establish a "perfect society" are at variance with the very nature granted to human kind.

Relative to Arnold, he's always been a social liberal so none should be surprised. In a state where wrapping a cucumber in a condom before a class of young students is considered "mainstream" sex education... what's left?

As Theodore Dalrymple said, where "anything goes" -- eventually everything does!
