Okay I'll try again more reasonably on the stay at home conservatives
ME

Posted on 09/02/2006 9:41:18 AM PDT by ashamedtobefromparkridge

Some sensitive democrat supporters got my previous post pulled and I admit I went overboard but I am just so angry at how ridiculous some people get.

The whole Idea that because the republicans haven't done everything you want you want them out and want the democrats in TO SEND A MESSAGE.

The only message it sends is you want Bush impeached or at least a long costly trial that will weaken the US in the world and embolden the terrorists.

You want a much better chance at much higher taxes.

You want a very good chance we cut and run from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Tell me these things won't happen if the dems take over and since when do conservatives want cut and run and higher taxes?

And why do you want the terrorists emboldened by a weakened Bush?

Yes he hasn't been perfect but the alternative is much worse.

The Republican congress under Bush has been both good and bad for conservatives.

But the dems would make it 100 percent bad.

I agree on Bush's immigration bill. But it's much better than anything the dems want and if the dems win that's what will happen.

And another point if a vacancy happens in the SC right now at worst we'd get a middle of the road person if the dems win they'd make the most liberal justice look like Rush in comparison.

Vote republican even if you have to hold your nose and work at getting better candidates in 08.

If you truly believe the dem you'd vote for is better you're probably misled at best but vote for him/her.

But just to send a message don't do it.

It took the dems 12 years to take control if they do in 06. Do you want to wait that long to take control back?

I've been disappointed in Bush myself. But when I think of the alternative I get nightmares literally.

The dems will go for impeachment, higher taxes, cut and run and no immigration laws. They may not get them but its certainly much more likely to happen.

A vote against the republicans either for a dem or in default by not voting period is a vote against anything happening good for the conservative movement.

Maybe I'm different because I'm not 100 percent conservative. Some of my views lean a bit liberal (the biggest is while I'm anti gay marriage I am pro civil unions. By the way many gays agree with me on that including my gay republican cousin). But I'd rather vote for a rep willing to make some compromises than any democrat.

We're never going to get eveyrthing we want. But we're going to get what we have taken away and definitely not anything more with a democrat congress.

And believe me I will need a barf bag and nose clips to vote for Judy Barr Topinka in November. I think I should have an ambulance at the ready in case.

This is the first governor or presidential race I haven't put time into since I was 8 years old. I even go back to before I was able to vote to Ford in 1976 helping stuff envelopes at 8 years old.

Heck I've even voted for a democrat or too WHEN HE WAS THE BETTER CANDIDATE! Not to send a message but because he was the better candidate.

And for those who think I'm a DU in disguise. Read my post history.

Or why the heck do you think I'm ashamed to be from Park Ridge? Dave Butts the Washington Redskins star? No her name rhymes with Sillary Flinton.

that is irrelevant to the discussion.

The discussion is about the lesser evil. If you don't assure the lesser evil then you do assure the greater evil.

By aiding the greater evil, you become the evil.

Your failure to act in a relative positive manner results in a negative action. Your belligerent insistance on your way or no way becomes in the end evil.

I agree with the general thrust of the argument.

I see absolutely zero benefit and 100% harm in "sending a message to the RINOs" that, has the affect of insuring we will not get another Roberts or Alito through a Democrat run judiciary committee; with the possibility of one or two more vacancies in the next two years.

Our beef with the liberal Dims and the RINOs runs on many fronts, not just the Presidency or Congress and one of the places where the agenda of the liberals has been most effective and most damaging is the courts.

The fight against the elected RINOs and GOP big-spenders should be in the primaries, and no matter what happens/happened in the primaries, the battle should leave any intra-party losses to the next primaries and go forward to secure the party leadership in Congress - for the all important judicial appointments if for nothing else. The judicial vacancies do not come about that often. We have to be in position to get our preferred judges in when the vacancies come up. There are many more appointments needed, to reverse 40 years of the buildup of the liberal judicial oligarchy. We have spent those forty years fighting to get back to where we had a GWBush who would make those appointments. We cannot, at this moment in time, give that up out of pique at the RINOs and big-spenders. We will live to regret it.

You want to send a message to a RINO or a big-spending Republican, do it in the primary, do it when they error in their votes, at the time they error in their vote, and in every primary after that vote.

You want another Ginsburg on the Supreme Court? Take your primary losses out on your own party in the general election.

I for one will not say thank you.

I took the test. It was a great test! Here are my results:

"English Genius
You scored 92% Beginner, 100% Intermediate, 80% Advanced, and 86% Expert!
You did so extremely well, even I can't find a word to describe your excellence! You have the uncommon intelligence necessary to understand things that most people don't. You have an extensive vocabulary, and you're not afraid to use it properly! Way to go!
Thank you so much for taking my test. I hope you enjoyed it!"

This is real simple. Anyone who doesn't vote GOP wants the Democrats to win.

Some do it because they are really Rats and make no pretense about it.

Some do it because they really are Democrat/leftist/protectionist/socialist wolves in Republican sheep's clothing. They pretend to others (and themselves) that only they are the "real" Republicans or "real" conservatives. See, e.g., Buchanan paleoconservative types. In fact, they are as phony as a three dollar bill.

Others do it out of often malicious spite, or pompous self-righteousness (which are often the same thing). See, e.g. single issue voters (you know who you are).

And some are masochists (a form of neurosis). These are the types who would rather serve under Nancy Pelosi than rule with George W. Bush, even when politically they are much closer to Bush.

The Rats require all types, and count on them to attempt to win elections. This is why Rats are not healthy either in your house or in your Congress and/or White House.

I've yet to hear anyone say anything remotely like that. Some of us just don't want the Republican Party to become the Democratic Party...and vice versa. Dissension leads to strength, blind voting to weakness.

or pompous self-righteousness

Note to self: principles are actually pompous self righteousness. So when I "hold my nose" and vote for the RINO Mark Kennedy this year, I won't actually be sacrificing principle, I will be shunning selfish self righteousness!

I have seen the light!

Wrong!

And I don't fit in any of your reasons listed.

You are right, and it is time to rally everybody for a massive Republican upset... The Dims have positioned themselves as overconfident and underfunded, with no substance and only hate-america-first as a policy.

We need to put all of our criticisms aside as voters, and massively reject the Democrats for the entire world to see.
