Governor signs SB 1441. A great Victory for the Gay Lobby.

by Mike Spence - Los Angeles County (print)

8-28-2006 5:16 pm

The Governor signed AB 1441 minutes ago. SB 1441 extends so called anti-discrimination laws concerning sex, sexual orientation and one's perceptions about their sexual oreintation to ANY entity that receives any amount of state funding.

Translation: Does your Christian school take any money for disabled kids? Does your Religious College takes students on Cal-Grants? Any relgious instituition that provides CALWORKS childcare or any service now must protect the jobs of any kind of sexual choice you can think of.

It should be noted THAT NOT ONE REPUBLICAN IN THE STATE SENATE OR ASSEMBLY VOTED FOR THE BILL. NOT ONE!!!! One Dem actually voted no.

And Phil would have signed the same bill. Thanks Governor for showing us the difference.

Don't blame me, I voted for Tom McClintock. What a shame that we ended up with Schwarzenegger, who is is every much a phoney and liar today as he was in the recall election, and every much the spineless POS that Davis was/is. Schwarzenegger and the CA GOP can kiss my ass. California is doomed.

This is exactly what the Republican Party of Florida is setting itself up for. Mr. Crist has a "live and let live" attitude. Translation, your morality is illegal discrimination, especially if that is what you want to teach your children.

Terrible decision and will keep some voters home. I'll still vote for Arnold but only because the alternative is so much worse.

Do us a favor and vote Constitution, at least you can look at yourself in the mirror and know you did the right thing.

You gotta know what you're voting for when you vote. Arnold is about a 75-80% liberal, and 20-25% conservative. The Democratic leaders are generally about 95% liberal. So Arnold usually lets us down, but occasionally--he vetoed same sex marriage and occasionally opposes big spending--he supports us. People should have known that when they voted for him. If the Demos take over the state house it will get worse--but only a little worse.

How is helping to get Angelides elected is "doing the right thing?

Angelides said he will sign the homosexual marriage bill, which Arnold vetoed.

Because it will prevent the complete destruction of the CAGOP, which is trying to purge conservatives from the party. To win, if we must adopt the Democrats' views, will it be worth the victory? I don't think so.

Currently 34% of the voters in CA are registered Republicans, I guess you would like that to shrink to 13%.

Numbers are important. But only up to a point and one must never abandon one's principles for the sake of ephemeral popularity. This state can't have two socialist parties. If we agree with the Democrats on everything but how to implement THEIR agenda, we might as well stay home.

The objective is to be able to insert one's approach to solving problems into "the system". Voluntarily relegating yourself to a permanent loser position, where you have ZERO influence does NOT advance your "principles".

I can understand incrementally advancing conservatism. In California, no matter who is Governor, socialism keeps chalking up victories. That is the problem.

Ultimately every political party must choose those issues which it cannot compromise. They should be limited in number, well-defined, and part of every stump speech of every party member.

I think the attempted subversion and destruction of the American family is one of those deal-breaker issues, and I bet 90%+ of Republicans would agree.

FO ignores the fact 100% of GOP lawmakers voted AGAINST the agenda promoted by the liberal Austrian and the Democrats. When the chips were down, he threw his party overboard like so much useless ballast. Some "Republican!"

A Republican SIGNED the bill. How many social conservatives and Christians voted for that Republican?

You're telling me the Constitution Party candidate is going to vote for a pro-homosexual bill?

Or are you saying that if he votes for the candidate that best reflects his moral and political views, he's somehow wrong for doing so?
