'Everyone needs to be killed,' suspect told police (Terrorist SUV driver in SF)

"Everyone needs to be killed,'' Omeed Aziz Popal calmly told officers as he sat in the back of a police car after a hit-and-run rampage that left one person dead in Fremont and 19 injured in San Francisco.
Just why the 29-year-old unemployed automotive worker allegedly said that remains a mystery. His family says he is mentally ill.
But his comments, as recorded in police reports filed by three officers who spoke with Popal, suggest a level of planning that may belie claims of mental illness, authorities say.
...................................................
Popal told one officer that he "wanted to come to San Francisco and kill people,'' and another officer that "everyone needs to be killed,'' the police reports said.
"I planned to kill those people I ran over last night -- they needed to be killed,'' Popal said at one point.
His antipathy for people, as portrayed in the police reports, was punctuated by particular hatred for his father. Relatives have said Popal's parents, with whom he still lives in Fremont, kept a close eye on him and allowed him little freedom because of what they described as his mental instability and their desire to shield him from "evil people."

I did a search in this article for relative key words:
Muslim
Islamic
Terrorist
Gee, I wonder why I didn't find these words?

Ooops. Did I post the wrong source? I saw SF Chronicle in the header of the article, but now I see it's SF Gate.
Is there a difference? And does it matter?
Can you fix if need be? Thanks.

Maybe because he's not a terrorist. Much simpler explanation: he's a highly dependent mentally unstable person who finally snapped.

I have wondered if the younger Muslims would eventually get sick of the total control of their culture - sounds like he got sick of it in more than one way.

Well, he said it after he declared himself a terrorist and mentioned that he did it because of Satan (I am assuming he meant the Great Satan, that is, the US). He may be a nut, thanks to generations of Pakistani inbreeding, but he's a nut stirred up by the nuttiness that is Islam.

At least he's NOT a terrorist ! We should all be thankful for that! (sarc)

"Muslim, Islamic,Terrorist... Gee, I wonder why I didn't find these words?" But they did say mental illness, mentally ill, mental instability, and mental problems and that equates to Muslim and Islamic.

"His family says he is mentally ill."
Well, that's one way of putting it. Omeed Aziz Popal, a Muslim and ALL other Muslim are mentally ill - it's their beliefs that make them "ill".
And don't give me this crap that "my neighbor is a Muslim and he lets me borrow his lawn mower". Yeah, maybe he will now but down the road he'll be knocking at your door to slit your throat and rape your wife, kids and pets before he cuts their heads off. Remember, YOU are the "infidel".

Quoting from the newspaper article:
"Members of Popal's family have said he had been hospitalized at least twice this year for mental problems."
That doesn't sound like anything from the protocol of training for Al-Qaida. Of course, it would be pretty clever to have all the deep cover terror cell operatives in the US get hospitalized for mental illness a couple of times before they commit a murderous act.
Seriously, folks. It is possible that an American citizen who is a Muslim is also genuinely plagued with mental illness. Let's do a good investigation on this case before we fall off the deep end. Anybody with a family knows the drill here.

No. A terrorist is generally trained, educated, and independent. Like the 9/11 terrorists. I suppose this guy could be the equivalent of a suicide bomber, but if so, who recruited him? If he's not affiliated with some larger organization, it's more likely he's just a lone nutball. Labelling him a terrorist really dilutes the meaning of the term.
To: Responsibility2nd
Because there was NO terrorism. The
Mercury News this morning said so itself: "There's no indication this act was targeted toward any particular person,
nor is there any indication that it was an act of terrorism," said Fremont police detective Bill Veteran.

But they did say mental illness, mentally ill, mental instability, and mental problems and that equates to Muslim and Islamic.I think by saying the Islamofacists are mentally you are taking away from the reality that they are just plain evil. There are mentally ill people in all ethnic groups, religions etc. I can't say if this is a man who is truly mentally ill or not. However, I won't say the Islamofacists are mentally ill and give them an out for their hatred and actions.

"Popal told San Francisco police that he wanted to kill his father, Najib Popal. He also said he had already killed his father by cutting off his hands. "
Typical Muslim - dismembering people.
"Father and son had quarreled in recent days over Omeed Popal's insistence on going back to Afghanistan, where he had traveled in July to marry a woman he had never met, Nekrawesh said. Popal's parents arranged the wedding. "
Hopefully they'll never meet. If he doesn't kill her, he'll probably beat the crap out of her.

OK, for the sake of argument, let's assume he is not a terrorist tied to any sleeper cells. Assume he is not in deep at his mosque with jihadists.
But Islam is a religion that can and does deeply twist the minds of its followers to hate, murder, kill, fly planes into buildings, blow up children, etc.
I don't want to overstate this either, but the fact is he's Muslim and he's nuts.

In the one video I watched they mentioned a Jewish location. I am wondering if he targeted the people because they looked Jewish to him?
