I am proudly endorsing Tom Gallagher for Governor of Florida. In a day when moral standards are up for grabs, Tom will be a champion for the family. He will work to provide genuine school choice for every Florida child, and he understands that the courts must be reigned in.
Dr. James Dobson National Conservative Leader
Did anyone actually watch the debate this week between Gallagher and Crist? Gallagher sounded like a buffoon. He never answered anything ... shucked and jived and acted more like a democRAT than any rat in the race.
....and I on the same planet?
I've enjoyed and respected Dr. Dobson since he first started .... but he's just wrong this time.
You are on Planet X in a holodeck. What you thought you saw was two Republicans debating each other, what the reality is ... Gallagher conservative, Crist RINO. What is it about RINO's that has you sucked in? Is it the support for Senate immigration policies, gay marriage, support for Roe vs. Wade, or is it the platitudes? For crying out loud, even the moderator had to stop Charlie from pontificating instead of answering the question on abortion.
..and are you telling me you never pay attention to endorsements?....not ever?
Nah ..... watched it with my even more conservative wife.
Gallagher sounded like an empty headed moron.
You are the clown, not him!
As you can see, we hav many RINOS here at FR>
Answer the questions, we can tell you are so smart that you picked up on Charlie's slickness. Which policy does he represent that you support? The Anti-murder Bill? If your wife is so conservative, what was is that she supported? The false charge that Tom is awaiting trial?
RINOISM- The first symptom is the compulsion to spend millions on Bird Flu.
Gallager has a huge problem that none of his supporters want to talk about.
Crist is polling ahead of him 57% to 32%. Another 3-point slip would put Crist ahead two to one. Looks like it could be a landslide in the making.
*Of course this must be due to them polling only people who do not listen to Dr. Dobson or read Joseph Farah's website. /sarcasm
The Florida Ethics Commission found this summer that Gallagher might have improperly traded stock in two insurers while his office regulated them.
Abortion is a non-starter in real politics....
No one can or will stand up to reversing Roe V Wade. If you think anyone running for any office on the planet has the clout to pull that off then you're just nuts.
I'm tired of watching republicans mumble their way through debates....
Bush does it everytime he appears on television. Brian Williams on NBC just cleaned his clock with their Katrina special.
....and don't give me the "editing" excuse. The only excuse there is is that Bush and Gallagher have no fire behind them. We republicans look like mouth breathers.
I could care less where Crist stands on abortion. He's not going to help or hurt it.
The NRA has endorsed him. FPL hates him and it appears his synaps fire just fine.....and I kinda dig that.
No, I do not pay attention to endorsements; don't you think you can find out enough on your own to decide?
As I stated before the Dr. Dobson endorsement did not decide it for me or any other well informed citizen. The fact of the matter is not everyone stays as well informed as we FReepers do.
Having said that, I was just pointing out the fact that many Christian Conservatives who were leaning towards Crist in the primary, have stated that the Dobson endorsement has caused them to take a closer look at Gallagher and in fact many have switched from the Crist camp to the Gallagher camp...
Bottom line, we will all know on TUESDAY and this dicussion will be in the history books... but I think it is interesting to see people switch from Crist to Gallagher for the Primary.. it is alo interesting to note that I have not heard of a single person switch from Gallagher to Crist... and when the dust settles we will all rally against the winner of the Primary..
Just out of curiousity, do you have a link to the "FACT that many former Crist supporters and former undecided voters are telling polsters that the REASON they are choosing Gallagher is at least in part related to the Dr. Dobson endorsment?" Where did you hear/see this?
For every vote a Dobson endorsement gets for Gallagher, another vote goes to Crist. A lot of Republicans don't like Dobson, despite your beliefs. A lot of Republicans are tired of Terri, too.
It's not single issues that decide elections. In fact, single issue campaigners or campaign web sites generally cost their candidates votes, rather than gain them.
the facts are my own... my family and I are very involved in the "Christian Community" as well as the "Homeschool Community", many Christian homeschoolers discuss privately where they stand politiclly, I have also heard this from sources outside of own... I have encourged folks to visit FR and post their own opinions.
1. Define "many."
2. What is the source for this claim of fact?
In that case, and with all due respect, your personal observation probably doesn't warrant its own thread in the News/Activism forum. And you also might not be so apt to jump down the throat of people who discuss the Crist vs. Gallagher race without explicitly mentioning how the Dr. James Dobson endorsment (which happened weeks ago) influenced their decision. Oh, and in case you didn't see it, another poll out today shows Gallagher down 22 points. That's three polls in 1 week showing him down at least 16 points, with 5 days before the election.
The St. Pete Times doesn't subscribe to the Mason-Dixon poll, but Buzz hears the latest primary numbers show Charlie Crist beating Tom Gallagher 56 percent to 34 percent.

I keep up with the news, the candidates, the issues...etc.
However, there are many who rely on people they trust and respect--like Dr.Dobson- to help them understand the issues and point them toward a candidate.
Not everyone can or don't keep up with current issues..(like we do here at FR)....
I think you meant this for davidosbourne.
