Banja Luka. USA military forces started preparing for their pullout of the Eagle base near Tuzla, Serbian agency TANJUG informs citing Bosnian newspaper Oslobojdenje. The news of the pullout of the American troops has caused concern among Sarajevo political circles. Citing reliable sources the Bosnian newspaper announced the Americans will leave the base by the end of the year as they will be replaced by a Dutch battalion. The chair of the Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Presidency Sulejman Tihic could not confirm definitely the news of the pullout of the US troops from BiH because “there is no information from official political and diplomatic sources”.

Funny. When I was at Dayton in 1995, it was supposed to be a "1-year mission"; Then when I spent 1996 at Eagle Base in Tuzla it turned into "several years"....well, at least it is ending...*LOL*

I remember writing Senator Sam Nunn a letter, asking him to vote to keep our troops out of Yugoslavia. His response was that he was also concerned, but the President had promised a limited time deployment.
I wonder if the press will play this up,

I wrote to Boxer & Feinstein as well, trying to keep our troops out of Bosnia. I got nonsense generic letters back from both, reassuring me of the nobility & "necessity of their deployment for a limited duration" (home before Christmas), blah, blah, blah.
I recently wrote them both about Kosovo. I got nothing back from Boxer, -- but Feinstein sent me back a rather eloquent letter "sharing my concern" and it actually sounded somewhat sincere. Either Feinstein has changed her tune or she has figured out that "this (Kosovo) dog won't hunt". Frankly, I was almost impressed -- but the proof of sincerity is in the action, not the talk.
God help me, I better never meet Bill, Hillary or Madelyn Albright -- I know that I wouldn't be able to resist the sudden urge to spit on them!
Pulling out troops -- gee, is it about time?! Under Clinton, we backed the wrong side. Big surprise!
Why the hell should Muslims in Bosnia kill American troops? US troops actually BROUGHT to power Islamists in Bosnia. Islamists are buissy trying to ethnically cleans Christians in Bosnia...
