America's Muslims Aren't as Assimilated as You Think
Washington Post ^ | 8/27/06 | Geneive Abdo

If only the Muslims in Europe -- with their hearts focused on the Islamic world and their carry-on liquids poised for destruction in the West -- could behave like the well-educated, secular and Americanizing Muslims in the United States, no one would have to worry.

So runs the comforting media narrative that has developed around the approximately 6 million Muslims in the United States, who are often portrayed as well-assimilated and willing to leave their religion and culture behind in pursuit of American values and lifestyle. But over the past two years, I have traveled the country, visiting mosques, interviewing Muslim leaders and speaking to Muslim youths in universities and Islamic centers from New York to Michigan to California -- and I have encountered a different truth. I found few signs of London-style radicalism among Muslims in the United States. At the same time, the real story of American Muslims is one of accelerating alienation from the mainstream of U.S. life, with Muslims in this country choosing their Islamic identity over their American one.

Reading the Qur'an provides a (dubious) reason for why Yusuf might be lying, but it offers no evidence that Yusuf is lying.

If you can't prove your claims, don't make them.

Or here's a quote from Moussaui's trial, summing up Islamic thought:

That you take a convicted terrorist's murderous rants as a summation of Islamic thought says more about you as al-Qa'ida's "useful idiot" than it does about what the average American Muslim thinks.

No doubt our local dhimmnidog will dismiss Moussaoui as an aberration.

I'll take that as a reference to me.

I won't dismiss Moussaoui as an aberration, but I'll dismiss you as Mousaoui's tool for believing him.

Ah, but the problem is that the Mexicans are like us in many ways. They assimilate quickly. They value our freedom, our reward for effort, our religious values (where they still exist). The Muslims are not like us at all. I will take 10 million Mexicans over 1 million Muslims any time. Although I would rather take none of them.

"Reading the Qur'an provides a (dubious) reason for why Yusuf might be lying, but it offers no evidence that Yusuf is lying."

The religion has three distinct stages of conquest in its founding document. He is in stage one -- lying.

Any honest student of the koran can tell you this.

So you're a two-faced liar. Thanks for letting us know.

LOL! Muslims need to know that they are not the only two-faced liars. So, you are welcome!

Moussaui was merely quoting well-known and oft-repeated tenants of jihad from the koran.

Indeed, with a brief search of the Net (or FR) you can hear the leader of CAIR expressing the same thoughts regarding making Islam the dominant religion of the US.

And, pretty much have soldiers I knew from basic training killed by an "American muslim" while they slept in their tent pretty well proved the concept to me, as well.

As did the "American" muslim who drove his car over people all over San Fransico --- oh, wait, he was "crazy."

As did the "American" muslim who drove his car into the crowd at that college the other day.

As did the "American" muslim convert with the Pakistani roomates who blew himself up outside the Oklahoma football game --- after having been denied entry into the game because he refused a search.

The express words of the koran are clear.

The express words of the terrorist and "peaceful" leaders are clear.

The violent actions are clear.

But, think what you want. Some are meant for slavery, I guess.

Just move to Iran and get it over with.

Um, but you have already taken 30 million Mexicans and are on the way to taking 30 million more.

What university football game was it that the kid tried to get into and was denied because they wanted to search him for alcohol?? He went to a bench outside and blew himself up. His Paki roommate didn't know anything about it. The apt was full of explosives as I recall.

Yeah, because most college guys keep an apt full of explosives. /sarc.

Wasn't it in Ohio? I'm looking now. I thought I recently read they ruled that NOT a terror incident. So, nothing to see here, these aren't the terrorists we're looking for, move along - seems to be the mindset.

Oklahoma.

Basically, the ruling was that he was a mental defective, which is true.

But he's a mental defective with Paki roomates who went to a mosque and decided to blow himself (and others, he had metal shrapnal of some kind, IIRC) up using the plans they had all over their room.

It's so stupid. Of course the terrorists master minds use mental midgets to do their dirty work. That's why they're the "master minds."

Thanks, I knew there was an 'O'.

Gee, the Paki roomie denied knowing about the explosives and there was no terror and the young man who died was mentally challenged? Well! That's it then, for sure nothing to see here. /sarc.

I guess because you're more local to OK, you got more of the story. I never knew that the young man was mentally challenged (or I just missed it). What a tragedy. I remember hearing how broken hearted his father was and that there was 'more to the story'. How sad. And worse still that they've swept it under the rug.

It's so stupid. Of course the terrorists master minds use mental midgets to do their dirty work. That's why they're the "master minds."

Yes, it sure is! And more's the pity that they just filed it as one desparate act from a mental defective. I hope privately at least they did something with the Paki roomie and apt full of explosives and shrapnel. But I won't hold my breath.

Chapter and verse please. And "oft-repeated" by who?

Yes, an internet search will reveal lots of terrible things that Muslims have done here. An internet search will also reveal terrible things that Christians have done -- but you'll probably dismiss Eric Rudolph et al as "crazy".

Hey, here are some pictures of more of your fine masters,

Americans are free. I have no master but God.

Got to love their signs!

You clearly do. I think they're deplorable. Of course, you might be the kind that trawls the Net for pictures of Aryan Nation rallies...

"Chapter and verse please. And "oft-repeated" by who?"

The chapter and verse are in the link provided above re" Janus-face of Islam. Not that you'll read them.

"Oft-repeated by who?"

Well, besides basically all the terrorists, the president of CAIR said them himself. Surely, you seen the posts of his quotes.

Bye, dhimmni.

I know what that word means and it is too good for them. If you subscribe to that religion, that says alot about YOUR character, my 'friend' and arguing with you any further is a pointless waste of time. Buh bye....

"Janus face of Islam" shows that you, the former president of CAIR, and terrorists all have the same understanding of Islam. Great company you got there.

I know what that word means and it is too good for them.

So the term used by the Nazis to classify the millions of innocent people they slaughtered is "too good" for to use to describe Muslims. Perhaps you think that systematically murdering all of America's Muslims would be "too good" for them as well?

If you subscribe to that religion, that says a lot about your character.

The black letter of the koran is what it is and says what it says.

And what the koran says is to conquer or kill all those in the "House of War" --- that is, all non-muslims.

I know we are all taught that all religions are equal. But Islam, like the religion of National Socialism in Germany or the Emporer in Japan, cannot be tolerated in the form it is in, as it cannot, by nature, co-exist with any other religion.
