Yes, I didn't mean that they weren't being effected as well. I was referring to my employment within public education - and thinking of maybe something else as a vocation rather than working in schools.

Stick a fork in us. California is done.
Not really.
It's only really getting rolling with it's imitation of Rome.
Totally monotheism will be the only belief system effectively driven
from the public sqare.
A hyper-rich elite.
A bunch of de facto slaves from the provinces.
Basically no middle class.
Grand architecture.
It is becoming and will continue to be the world's capital of
very rich, happy pagans.

Get off of the computer and get that brush cleared away. It's exercise, it's good for you. You have no idea what an ass you just made of yourself. The difference in the degree to which my property has been thinned compared to its surroundings can be seen from twenty thousand feet. It's already done, well beyond CDF regulations, which can preclude the necessary removals. It's taken fifteen years of brutal and dangerous work.
Given that there are parts of these mountains where a property owner can be fined $1500 for "adverse pruning," what makes you think they'll be allowed to thin their property before it burns? Don't be an idiot.

SB 1441 requires any program or activity that
receives any financial assistance from the state to support and promote gender identity (transsexuality) and sexual orientation (bisexuality and transsexuality). By importing these controversial sexual lifestyle definitions from the Penal Code, this intolerant bill tramples the religious values of faith-based institutions: So, the answer then is not to take money from the state.
We're supposed to be conservatives here, people. Conservatives do not suckle on the public teat -- that's for liberals and statists.

As used in this section, "race, national origin, ethnic group identification, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, color, or disability" includes a perception that a person has any of those characteristics or that the person is associated with a person who has, or is perceived to have, any of those characteristics. How else could "sexual orientation" be proven in a court of law? LOL!

So, the answer then is not to take money from the state. Including police or fire protection? Think before you post; the people who wrote this bill are far more insidious than you realize.

Are you daft? Government has a few (limited) responsibilities. Just because it provides police and fire protection does not mean it can justify meddling in every other aspect of life. Nor does that justify your hitting the government up for money for whatever pet project you have in mind.
Why are you trying to go off on a tangent, anyway?

Are you daft? Not in the least. I know my enemy. You clearly don't, believing that your standards of "reasonableness" apply here. Just watch.
Government has a few (limited) responsibilities. Just because it provides police and fire protection does not mean it can justify meddling in every other aspect of life.
Like forcing my kids to mouth adulation for their sexual depravity? In a just world, government exercises responsiblities. In our world, it serves dominant interests.
Why are you trying to go off on a tangent, anyway?
I'm not. You just can't accept the massive scope of where this law goes.

See, you've completely gone off on a tangent. The law says that anyone or anything taking money from the government. You don't have to take money from the government. You don't have to send your kid to a government school. Sure, the cops are taking money from the government, but are you frightened you'll be stopped by a cop out of the blue to be told about trans-gendered folks? Do you think firefighters will pause while battling your house fire to talk to you about homosexual rights?
Have as little to do with the government as is humanly possible. This is the conservative way.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL PING! ...especially if you live in California.
This ping list is for the "other" articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. If you want on/off this list, please freepmail me. The main Homeschool Ping List by DaveLoneRanger handles the homeschool-specific articles.

Do you think firefighters will pause while battling your house fire to talk to you about homosexual rights? Churches, many of which are old and don't have fire sprinklers. You really don't have a clue.

Have a clue as to whom you are preaching. I wrote the book on that one.

Somewhere in the midst of all of this we should remember that it is NOT the State's money... it is the people's money. The State gets money by taxing us and taking OUR money.
California is being ruled by a small, extremely radical group of legislators whose primary purpose is to remake the rest of us into THEIR image.
First set up a welfare state. Once you have control over those in your "system" via your handouts of cash they need for education, healthcare, schooling, childcare etc.... attach strings to getting the money. These 'strings' are the RULES by which they can INDOCTRINATE you and your children to think, act and believe in what they believe is the correct world view.
The new church on the block is the State of California - either believe in their doctrine or leave (just make sure you leave your wallet on the table so they can continue to fund their programs).

You are exactly correct. No doubt they have a long range plan and are just
ticking off each accomplishment as they move us closer to their leftist ideal.
They are all in favor of "faith" based organizations, as long as "faith" is defined as "the State".

Churches, many of which are old and don't have fire sprinklers. You really don't have a clue. Firefighters battling a church fire != taking money from the government for purposes of laws like these. If that were the case, then all human activities would eventually come under government oversight.

That's why the Left omitted a religious exemption. They may ignore it or they may enforce it if churches, synagogues and mosque get out of line. Then they'll read them the riot act.

"Schools that refuse the dirty funds will be able to offer an educational product free from government-imposed gobbledy-gook, and, thus, head and shoulders above what their former peers can offer."
It's hard for education bureaucrats to resist money. They can hear the sound of a wallet opening a hundred yards away.
