Two members of the Yes Men, a group of environmental and corporate ethics activists, duped business executives and some news organizations earlier today when they posed as top HUD officials and announced the agency planned to renovate several housing developments now slated for demolition. One of the men said they set up the hoax after receiving an e-mail solicitation from Equity International -- the group staging the conference -- in search of conference speakers.

Isn't that a crime?

Had they made a similar announcement stating that the agency was providing jobs renovating these same buildings to the folks who would live there and others on public assistance, you would have likely been able to hear a pin drop from the crowd.

If you're forced to work for what you get, it changes your perspective.

Let's see a crowd of people demonstrate for the right to go in and overhaul these properties. HA HA not going to happen.

If they were real activists, they would have been down there doing this stuff the day after the hurricane hit. That would have impressed me!

It would be a crime if we did it. Maybe "environmental and corporate ethics activists" are in a class with illegal immigrants. Laws don't apply to them.

" a group of environmental and corporate ethics activists"

And just how ethical is it to pull a hoax like this on folks...

What would be the point of this? To stir up more local discontent towards the Feds? Who finances this 'ethics group'?

The Yes Men seem to be Kerry supporters. I assume they're also on the 'chocolate coalition's' side as well.

"Everybody does it"
"No one is ever prosecuted for..."
"The ends justify the means"

The common excuses of the left.

Hmmm, "Truth" and/or "Honesty" aren't on the flag. I'm sure it was just "overlooked" as an "honest" mistake.

So, are "Louisiana Recovery Authority, Louisiana Department of Education, and the non-profit organization New Schools for New Orleans" bogus, too?
