How many ways has this same story been posted today? Classic example of the media re-packaging headlines trying to "make it come true."

If they can't win in 2006, given how poorly the president and the GOP has been perceived for over a year now, then they should just chuck the current lines and gimmicks and try something new.

And the Democrats accuse the president of seeing things through rose colored glasses

In my district we voted against a liberal RINO and will have a race between a true conservative and a no chance democrat. Guess we're doomed.

Albert R. Hunt?

THAT Albert R. Hunt? Judy Woodruff's husband?

Oh, OK, now I believe it.

Dream on, libscum. More and more people are "getting it" about Islamofacism and the left's "peace in our time" appeasement of these enemies of civilization. And our anger and utter contempt for the libscum is reaching new heights.

We certainly cannot get over-confident, but I for one expect a record turn-out on the RIGHT again, just like in '04 -- if not moreso.

If I'm wrong, we're screwed, and I mean the big "we" here: not just America, but the world, because the libscum appeasement of terrorists is going to turn this war HOT.

How many ways has this same story been posted today?
Or in the past 10 years since they lost the House?

It is going to be funny when they don't win again.

for the Dems to win, they need

1. a good off-year turnout, which is rare for them,

2. a bad GOP turnout (possible due to disenchantment by the faithful)

3. conservative voters to all of a sudden decide that they want higher taxes and more gun control

4. the public decide that Dems are better equipped to handle a war.

Not since FDR has they country turned to the Dems during the middle of a war.

During Korea, we went to Ike, during Vietnam we went to Nixon, during the Iranian Crisis, we went to Reagan.

GOP wins.

Everyone thinking about the 2006 elections and why we should keep the liberals out should go to liberalscostlives.com for a good blog that details why we need to keep them out.

I don't think anyone can honestly claim to know what is going to happen this November, but I've already mentally prepared myself for significant Democrat gains. Not that I'm expecting they will, but I acknowledge the possibility. There are just so many hot button issues in play right now—gas prices, illegal immigration, the Middle East conflict and larger war on terror—that it's hard to say what lever folks will be driven to pull.

Yeah, whatever. When folks get into that polling booth and pull the curtain closed, they're standing there with a choice: Do I send a message to the Republican who hasn't done all that I want him to, and put my safety, security, and the life of my family on the line? Or do a bite the bullet and vote with the party that will keep me safe and continue to win the war on terror?

It's not that difficult a choice and one with much greater ramifications than talking to a pollster.

According to MSNBC gas price average is at $2.87 but they always report a couple weeks late and based on the $2.50 I paid this morning I believe the NA is actually $2.70. The spot price this morning is at $1.80 down 9 cents which means the October NA delivery should be below $2.40 a gallon and Nov NA delivery should be $2.25 a gallon pending there is no hurricanes to hit the gulf coast.

Gas prices $3.10 a gallon GOP loses 25
$3.00 a gallon GOP loses 20
$2.75 a gallon GOP loses 15
$2.50 a gallon GOP loses 10
$2.25 a gallon GOP loses 5
$2.10 a gallon is a psychological relief point and GOP will actually gain 5

I think the Dems will take the House but the GOP will hold the Senate because in this election year, the GOP lost the independents. Why? Because the GOP acted like the Dems. Independents see no difference between GOP and Dems. High gas prices, the war in Iraq is making independents uneasy despite a good economy and after 12 years of GOP dominance in the House, many independents feel it may be time for a change.

Naw, it will just be a case of their message not being heard. They'll just have to redouble their efforts for 2008.

I continue to believe that the Democrats taking over the House is a Rovian plot to give voters a taste of what will happen if Democrats win in 2008.

And therefore guarantee a landslide Republican victory.

too bad.

I would much rather lose the Senate.

Controlling the House is most important.

You should not feel too bad then: we still don't have the Senate to lose. There are too many RINOS in the Senate.

Maybe they should dump their "Hate Bush" policy and actually present some IDEAS.
