Thank you to all the heroes out there in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard and National Guard who ensure that the freedoms we enjoy today will continue to future generations.  You are not forgotten.

Evening Lady Luv:

Nice night to be saluting our heroes of today (as well as times past) wherever they may be and take a few moments to reflect on all the sacrifices these brave men and women have made to ensure our freedom.

Those of us who served in past conflicts are especially sensisitive to the trials and tribulations they experience and they are all constantly in our thoughts and prayers.

Of course, we must not forget the families who also deserve our respect and appreciation for their own personal sacrifices and the loneliness and anxiety they endure.

I salute them all and ask God to look over them and keep them safe and should any fall, that He accept them into His Kingdom and have a special place reserved for them due to their sacrifice.

Here is my little contribution this evening:

Pfc. Justin Donnelly, a 10th Mountain Division medic, says farewell to baby Noor and her great grandmother at Baghdad Airport. Donnelly first examined the Iraqi infant prior to her diagnosis of spina bifida. She is being flown to the United States for treatment. This photo appeared on www.army.mil.

I was curious so I looked it up, and you're sooooooo close:

With a payload of 160,000 pounds, the C-17 can take off from a 7,600-foot airfield, fly 2,400 nautical miles, land on a small austere airfield in 3,000 feet or less. It can be refueled in flight.
