FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allies military and the family members of the above. Honoring those who have served before.
It is the Soldier, not the minister Who has given us freedom of religion. It is the Soldier, not the reporter Who has given us freedom of the press. It is the Soldier, not the poet Who has given us freedom of speech. It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer Who has given us freedom to protest. It is the Soldier, not the lawyer Who has given us the right to a fair trial. It is the Soldier, not the politician Who has given us the right to vote. It is the Soldier who salutes the flag, Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag, Who allows the protester to burn the flag.
- Charles Michael Province, U.S. Army Thank you to all the heroes out there in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard and National Guard who ensure that the freedoms we enjoy today will continue to future generations. You are not forgotten.

"Tonight you will be safe.
Tonight you can tuck your children in bed and know that they will be safe from a madmans war.
Tonight you can watch a movie with your loved one knowing that bombs will not fall on your land.
Tonight you will be safe.
Because I and my brothers are on duty, and with our Honor and our Lives if need be, no one will harm you on our watch."

And that's the truth. The whole reason we are here and can enjoy our country is because of the sacrifice of heroes.

I'm so pleased that you were moved by it. I know that posting it on FR is kinda like 'preaching to the choir' so to speak but I believe that we should never forget that day.
God bless those fighting the war on terrorism....their service, sacrifice & that of their loved ones deserve the full support of all of us at home!
Welcome to the Canteen hsalaw!

I was looking at the photos in your link (Lead Photo Archives), and saw one where airmen are loading humvees on a C-17 (?) aircraft. WOW! That's a big baby. How many miles of runway does that one need for take off? Great photos, all of them.

It's been well over a year since that happened. I guess I was so excited about it that you remembered. Nothing like I will be if I get to see Atlantis go up. You should see all the signs around here wishing them "godspeed" and prayers were said for the mission today in worship services.
