STATEMENT OF CLARIFICATION
TAMPA--In a recent article published in the Florida Baptist Witness, Congresswoman Katherine Harris was asked to comment on the interplay of faith and politics in the public square. In the interview, Harris was speaking to a Christian audience, addressing a common misperception that people of faith should not be actively involved in government. Addressing this Christian publication, Harris provided a statement that explains her deep grounding in Judeo-Christian values.
Bryan Rudnick, Harris for Senate Campaign Manager stated, "I joined this campaign because Congresswoman Harris is a passionate supporter of Israel, the Jewish people and always has the best interests of all Floridians at heart. As the grandson of Holocaust survivors, I know that she encourages people of all faiths to engage in government so that our country can continue to thrive on the principles set forth by our Founding Fathers, without malice towards anyone."
In Congress, Katherine Harris has consistently supported pro-Israel legislation. Representative Harris co-sponsored numerous resolutions including: H. Con. Res. 248, to honor the life and work of Simon Wiesenthal and to reaffirm Congress' commitment to the fight against anti-Semitism and all forms of intolerance; H.Con.Res. 392, to recognize the 58th anniversary of the independence of the State of Israel; H.Con.Res. 101, to push for the European Union to add Hezbollah to its list of terrorist organizations; and H.Res. 575, to stress that Hamas and other terrorist organizations should not take part in elections held by the Palestinian Authority.
As a Florida State Senator, Katherine Harris co-sponsored S. 3062, the Holocaust and Yom Hashoah Victims Resolution, encouraging observation of the day to remember the horrific tragedy of the Holocaust. While serving as Secretary of State, Congresswoman Harris advocated for funding for the Florida - Israel Linkage Institute to promote business/ cultural/educational/technological exchanges, and she traveled to Israel for personal and professional purposes. As Harris frequently reminds voters in her campaign speeches for the U.S. Senate, she is committed to standing by Israel.

I understood her comments to mean that in the face of a left wing that wishes to silence people, we need people who will fight to allow the Ten Commandments (Freedom of Religion, Expression), defend morality, sanctity of life, etc.

I really don't think anyone took her speech to mean that.

Wgat Honesty?
The Honesty that:
1. She was going to put $10 Million of her Inherantacne into the race.
Or
2. That she was going to sell off everything she owned to fund her campaign.
or
3. That several of her backers were going appear at a Orlando Rally.
Or
4. That State Senator Webster supported and endorsed her.
or
5.That U.S. Reps. Mark Foley, Ginny Brown-Waite, Jeff Miller and Cliff Stearns supported and endorsed her.
or
6.. That a tree fell on a Hanger at a Orlando Rally and that is why there was low turn out.
or.
7. That Florida Republican Party Chairwoman Carole Jean Jordan had endorsed her.
or
8.That in a campaign pamphlet Gov. Jeb Bush has "pledged to back" her campaign
or
9. That Democratic members of Congress from Florida have privately said they want her to unseat Nelson.
or
10. Harris insisting her campaign had nothing to do with one of her campaign staff questioning another Candide's heritage.
All these statements by Harris and her campaign have turned out to be false. That is quite some Honesty she has going on. This is only part of it. Let's not forget about her keeping secret a Subpoena she received dealing with the Wade scandal and not reporting it to The Speaker of the House as required.

This is the derivation of the word "congress".
Congressus is the past participle of the Latin word congregare to "come together."
Origin: 13501400 for earlier sense body of attendants, following; 152030 for current senses; ME < L congressus assembly, intercourse, meeting, equiv. to congred(?) to approach, meet (con- con- + -gred?, comb. form of grad? to step; cf. grade) + -tus suffix of v. action]

She was just saying that her comments were taken way out of proportion. Except they weren't.
Stating, in her own words, that unless one votes for Christians, "they will be legislating sin" is simply bizarre. There is no context which will put lipstick on that pig.
Then she blames her audience for distorting what she clearly said. This is akin to her blaming her staff for everything that has gone wrong in her campaign.

None of my family and friends in Florida are voting for Harris. They are hoping she doesn't make it out of the primary.
My family in Ohio are all supporting Blackwell.

To quote a very good friend of mine "She is arrogant and tempermental!"
It is never her fault and noticed the KH crowd on here thinks the same thing that everyone is out to get her because nothing she says is her fault. We all misunderstand her. Very reason she is losing!
One of the worst campaigns I have witnessed!

In the end it won't matter. Her campaign had fallen apart long before she talked to this Baptist publication.
To: GOPsupporterFL
She didn't say anything here.
She said that only Christians should be elected, and she didn't take it back.

Her record- for good or ill is no longer of interest to me. So why post on the threads then.
