Former US President Carter 'Disappointed' With Blair By VOA News 27 August 2006
Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter says he is "extremely disappointed" with Tony Blair for what he says is the British prime minister's failure to constrain President Bush's policies toward Iraq.
Mr. Carter, an outspoken critic of the 2003 U.S.-led Iraq invasion, was quoted Sunday in Britain's Sunday Telegraph newspaper. He said he thought that Mr. Blair could have had a moderating influence on Washington, "and he has not."
Mr. Blair has been President Bush's closest international ally on Iraq, and Britain has the second largest contingent of troops in the country.
Mr. Carter said people in many countries he has visited equate U.S. policy with British interests,

Being disappointed by this train-wreck of a president should be considered as a compliment.
I'll be impressed only if the poor old fool expresses disappointment with his own failures.
Well Blair can take that as a compliment.
Jimmy Carter is a pig. His brother would have been a better president. At least the Iranians could not have predicted Billy so easily.
Who is worse than this old fart? Useless idiot! I'll throw the party the day he dies.
I'm not expecting any thoughts of disappointment when this scoundrel is no more.
When will these guys (Clinton and Carter) just go away?
Someone needs to reign The Appeaser in, preferably to an asylum.
The next time Peanut Man goes to the UK, Blair should have him arrested and confined in the Tower of London.
is VOA what became of RFE? of is this some private outfit with America in it's name???
"Wear a Sweater!"
Billy Carter had some dealings with Omar Khaddafi in Libya.
Bob Hope had a line that "the main difference between Jimmy Carter and his brother was that Billy had a foreign policy."
Jimmy expressing disappointment with his own failures?Don't hold your breath.Jimmah's a classic lib/marxist.He thinks(knows)he's brighter than the rest of us.We're just not bright enough to see his "genius".(Note the pic of him sitting with Michael Moore)Compounding the problem is the fact that he's probably senile now as well.
i hate to say this, but I think this country will be a lot better off when Jimmah has 'passed on'.
I wonder if the Rove/Bush plan is to let Carter and others spew their nonsense inorder to back them into a corner and destroy their legacies. After all, if/when Iraq is successful about 90% of the left will have openly and vigorously been proven wrong by their own words.
Not everyone agrees with your worldly views Jimmy Carter!
Jimmy, you are a disgrace to American politics. You are the blame for the start of radical Islam, because you showed weakness when the embassy in Iran was captured. You must know by now former President Jimmy that negotiation with terrorists is a futile exercize. You allowed our people to be held hostage for nearly TWO YEARS. You couldn't put together a successful military response to rescue the hostages, when we had the resources to do so.
Jimmy Carter......why have you not learned that negotiation with Islamic radicals is futile and your visions of utopia are totally ignorant of any concept of fact???
Jimmy Carter, you are still a failure. You have no influence.....
I need to stop ranting. my peanut allergy is flaring up.
