The Talk Shows
Sunday, August 27th, 2006
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Donald Powell, federal coordinator for Gulf Coast rebuilding and New Orleans City Council President Oliver Thomas; Sen. Joseph Biden, D-Del.; Steve Case, chairman and CEO of Revolution.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin and FEMA Director David Paulison.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Gov. Haley Barbour, R-Miss., and FEMA Director David Paulison.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Former Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator Mike Brown; Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., and Donald Powell, federal coordinator for Gulf Coast rebuilding; Bill Nye, "the Science Guy."
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Hoshyar Zebari, Iraqi foreign minister; Sens. Richard Lugar, R-Ind., and Carl Levin, D-Mich.; Gov. Kathleen Babineaux Blanco, D-La., and Gulf Coast rebuilding coordinator Powell.
Now that's a sight that's hard to imagine.
Of course, Phsstpok's preview thread let us know in advance. It's still amazing to watch the DBM try to get away with their blatant bias and propaganda.
"Y'all do your Katrina stories, this weekend I'm going to do a little light reading from a FACTUAL news source!"
Hitchens doesn't seem to be the type who will be intimidated by that kind of hostile format.
I can only watch for a bit. Much cooking to do. I will, however, listen when I can for one single person to tell some truths. Who knows, it may happen.
Equally difficult to take, though I am very grateful that Steve and Olaf are free, will be the touting of the heroism and importance of "journalists" and the kindness and generosity of the "Palistinian people".
Good morning AB and rodguy! Thanks for the post and efforts, as usual.
I'm lurking today for awhile. Probably won't post but thought I'd say hi and good morning.
If you're talking about Chris Hitchens, Ann was probably attracted to his brilliant mind.
If you're talking about Bill Maher, Ann was probably attracted to his lack of brain matter.

Nagin says he will evac EVERYONE out of the city if Ernesto comes close to N.O.
36 hours required for mandatory order.
[Hey, Nagyy, do you have the bus drivers 'detained' somewhere? They might already be fleeing the city, Nagyy.]
Nagin says they will use buses, trains, everything to get people out of the city.
[Will Timmy show Brousseau (sp) the Crier video? Hey Timmy, if you 'lost' your copy, I've got one on disk. hehehee]
The media has spent millions to blame the President for all that went wrong in New Orleans, and then we have Nagin..............oh, I love it!
Mayor Nagin, it's 9/11, not 911.
First Timmy gives Nagin the opportunity to backtrack on his remarks about the hole in the ground in New York. Now he can move on to how badly the President is doing. Nagin wants the money to come directly to New Orleans and not go through the State.
I am always amazed at the people who refer to that day as 911. If I am not mistaken I believe I heard Colin Powell use that as well.
Congrats ConservativeMan55! You now have officially become US Journalist. [They 're calling freelance photograpers journalists, not?]. Now, I am out finally.
BlankO dithtered and people died. That IS the bottom line with regard to Katrina.
The media may gleefully think that all this publicity is going to harm the President but I believe it means that Jindal is going to be governor of Lousiana. BlankO will be voted OUT of office.
I have never heard Charlie Rangel get it right, not once.
But then Rangel never gets anything right. He has promised to resign his seat if the dems don't get control of congress.
