If a bird flu pandemic were to strike the United States, the usual characters would of course appear on television to tell us how we're ignoring the minorities who are being crushed by it.
It is the most frightening thing that no preparation can possibly occur in the United States because any action taken will be seen through the tint of politics. Make preparations for a million people to be in a tent city? Those are Republican re-education camps.

I read a report in 2003 the U.S. planned a similar response. Hospitals would be quickly overwhelmed. Most people would be left on their own.
