I read a report in 2003 the U.S. planned a similar response. Hospitals would be quickly overwhelmed. Most people would be left on their own.

Unfortunately, the systems failure will not be limited to hospitals. The 35% sick rate will impact all systems - power, transportation, water, sewer etc. Throw New Orleans-like social disorder into the mix for locations with a culture of entitlement, and it will make Katrina look like a walk in the park.
