The Megadeth star is so upset with the UN he's named their new album 'United Abominations.'
Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine is so furious with the United Nations (UN), he has named the metal group's forthcoming album 'United Abominations.'
The rocker has joined critics of the UN, who claim the organization has been too slow to respond to the humanitarian crises in countries, such as Sudan and Rwanda.
Mustaine fumes, "I was watching TV and saw the trucks that said UN on them and said, 'Man, you are so uncool, ineffective, anything.'
"I thought, 'Wow, I've got to run with this. I got it - 'United Abominations,' because it's an abomination what they're doing.'"

It is better to be dead than to be un-cool.

Personally i always wanted hear Dave/Megadeth do a cover of CCR's "Fotunate Son"--It would be about a minute and half the way Megadeth plays, but the angry tone Dave has in his voice would just make it kick arse.

Here's a great megadeth lyric
"Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury
Have you reached a verdict ?
Yes, we have Your Honour, we find the defendant Guilty!
On all counts for crimes against all humanity
By virtue of the jury's decision and the power
Vested in me by the state I hereby sentence you to be
Incarcerated with no possibility of parole for life
Life? ... Whadda ya mean life? ... I ain't got a life
Boy! ... Your soul better belong to Jesus! ...
Hmmm-mmm cause your ass belongs to me!"

Back when I was a paint room foreman I ran a heavy metal paint room on second shift. We played Megadeth or Metallica almost exclusively.
On the good days my painters called me the Master of puppets. On bad days I was the Harvester of Sorrows.

Now that's funny. Harvester is my favorite Metallica song.

Pretty good.....although I have to admit I was never much of a heavy metal fan.
Maybe I'm too old.

If I recall correctly; about 10 years, I read an interview with Dave Mustaine in Guitar World.
He was asked about his favorite book and he said "Psalms." He continued, "If someone could come up with a translation that rhymes and put it to music it would blow away everything out there today."
He seemed pretty serious throughout the interview (but it was in print).

"The motto of my coat of arms is "Auxilium meum a Domino," which means my health comes from the lord - and that's just it. I can't change that. The psalms - the truth is, when my arm got damaged, I really took a hard, cold look at my whole understanding of things religious in nature and spiritual. Religion is for people who are afraid to go to hell, whereas spirituality is for people like me who have been there. I finally realized that I don't need religion to have a relationship with God, because he has all the answers and I'm just guessing. I turned up the jets on this quest and I've made more commitments to live a peaceful life. That doesn't mean I'm square or I'm a wimp - I still have fun." - Dave Mustaine

Have not heard this song since I saw it on MTV in the 80's.
Peace Sells
(Music, lyrics: Mustaine)
What do you mean, "I don't believe in God"?
I talk to him everyday.
What do you mean, "I don't support your system"?
I go to court when I have to
What do you mean, "I can't get to work on time"?
I got nothing better to do.
And, what do you mean, "I don't pay my bills"?
Why do you think I'm broke? Huh?
If there's a new way,
I'll be the first in line.
But it better work this time.
What do you mean, "I hurt your feelings"?
I didn't know you had any feelings.
What do you mean, "I ain't kind"?
Just not your kind.
What do you mean, "I couldn't be the President
Of the United States of America"?
Tell me something, it's still "We the people," right?
To: tallhappy; All
Wrong. Mustaine is one HELL of a guitar player and has been around for a long time. He's wrestled with his own demons in the past........but on this one? He's dead on.
More power to 'im. Plug in and crank it to '11', Dave.

Love Megadeth... good to hear someone with a louder voice than mine speaketh the truth about the corruption and utter uselessness of the UN.

Shut up and sing. Or in this case of zero talent, just shut up. Hey, I've a great idea. You tell me what's so great about the UN. I'm waiting.............oh, you can't? THEN WHY DON'T YOU SHUT UP?

He should kick Ozzie's feeble old A*S for his Hitler statement a couple of years ago.
I don't know where he stands on other issues but I agree with him on this and I think it is cool that he is willing to take a stand for it.
Even though I doubt anyone will buy his album.
And along these same lines of celebrity criticism; I saw the report on Drudge about Jesse James the motor cycle dude talking smack about the prez in our time of war.
I think we can say he is also like the boss's son.
The rebellious son who don't think he can keep up so he acts like he is pissed off all of the time.
Where do they get off with their trash talking.
I suppose I am hypocritical because I like it when I agree with them but it irks me when I don't.
I guess that's just how it is.

Seems to me that we should form a "Metal Ping List" - those thrilled when the President said "Ozzy, Mom loves your stuff!".
Going on 45 the Headbanger's Ball never died for me.
To: IslandJeff
Hetfield's singing on 'Justice for All' made me a Metallica fan for life.' Ulrich's selfish whiny rant on Napster made me less so (yes I still listen to their stuff but I will never pay a dime for another one of their albums - not that I have much cause to).
