She follows in the tradition and spirit of our Founders....And....her right to do so is protected by the First Amendment of our Constitution.

I don't see anyone arguing that she should be prohibited from making these claims, and whether or not she's following in the spirit of the Founders is really irrelevant.

The only issue of importance here is whether this was a politically astute move on her part. I suspect even ardent Harris supporters would have a hard time claiming the answer to that question is "yes".

The purpose of this article was to attack Katherine Harris for expressing her Christian beliefs and to quote others who would support that attack.

The writer succeeded in achieving his goal!

When Katherine gave this interview to the Baptist Witness publication she wasn't concerned about 'political astutemess' anymore that candidate George W. Bush was when he said that 'Jesus Christ changed his life'.
