Man who attacked Poland's chief rabbi sentenced

By ASSOCIATED PRESS WARSAW

A court gave a two-year suspended sentence Friday to a man who admitted attacking and insulting Poland's chief rabbi on a Warsaw street earlier this year.

The man was convicted of using violence and racially motivated hate speech, but was spared the maximum punishment of five years in prison, a court spokeswoman told The Associated Press.

During the trial Friday, the man admitted that he provoked the incident by shouting "Poland for the Poles" at Rabbi Michael Schudrich and other Orthodox Jews, the news agency PAP reported.

This is a bad decision. It means that any Pole gets one free beating of a Jew.

What would you expect then?

The guy is 34 years old. Has never been convicted before.

At this time he shouted "Poland for the Poles", pushed the rabbi Schudrich and sprayed pepper gas in his direction.

For this behavior he got 2 years imprisonment penalty suspended for 5 years (which means, that if he does anything like that again within following 5 years - he'll go to prison) and he'll pay 4.000 zloty (1.200 USD) fine.

You think that's not enough?

" You think that's not enough?"

I already said that I think that's not enough. He needs to do some time.

Dude, If "racially motivated hate speech" wasn't involved, he would get nothing, a rabbi wasn't even scratched.

He committed unprovoked assault and battery. You take that lightly. I do not.
