I'm just waiting for the GOP to actually win seats, it would be classic. just like in 2004 when democrats expected to gain in congress and the seante they got slapped.

I have a hard time believing what Novak says or writes. He seems to be on the fringe so many times.

Novak is descending into self-parody.

I posted a thread on FR here about two months ago analyzing this, asking Freepers for a no-crap assessment of the specific seats, and I'm satisfied that besides Delay, Ney, and Hostetler in IN, and perhaps the two in CT, there are very few truly vulnerable.

This is good news, LS. Thanks for letting me know. Sounds like a case of the media trying to create another self-fulfilling prophecy.

It's my firm belief that many, if not most of you, are in deep denial. You're whistling past the graveyard.

A paleoconservative, I was voting the straight Republican ticket before many of you were born but I believe they're gonna get their clocks cleaned come November. And as far as this fiscal conservative is concerned, they'll deserve it.

Repulican elites i said. They get into a tizzy because they shove their rino policies down our throats and expect us to comply with their pro cfr, pro illegal alien, etc. stuff. If they stuck to their guns and were unabahsed conservatives and not nervous nellies, we wouldn't have this problem.

If there is an anti-incumbency mood in the country as the media keeps telling us, why are not Democrat incumbents affected?

Because there are so few of them and they dont control anything. Republicans control Presidency, House, Senate and supposedly the Court.

In the few places where Dems are elected, like the two coasts and in innercity areas, there is only one party. In places like Ohio, IL, PA, and FL, etc Republicans are in bad shape for a variety of reasons.

Back in early 2004, Novak predicted that Bush would receive 99% of the GOP vote. No GOP presidential candidate has ever done that -- and Bush didn't do that in 2004.

I just can't take Novak seriously.

That is a separate issue. I'm just defending their nervousness about election outcomes. It is well justified, and always has been. The Rats have enormous power in this society, and it's reflected in our narrow margins.

I realize I misquoted you slightly, but the point is the same. The party elites have been right to be anxious about keeping Congress, not only this year but in previous years. I would add that regular Republicans should be anxious too. Not anxious in a paralyzing and discouraged way, but in an energized and resolute way. That's how you win.

No, but he did extremely well with the Republican vote.
There are probably some good examples of Novak as a lousy prophet, but this isn't one of them.

Old Lizard Face and Dick Morris love to hear themselves talk. That Fox should be paying for their blabbering, when they have zero credibility, doesn't say much for the judgement of Roger Ailes.

If your state is secure this 2006 I recommend adopting a republican candidate in another state.Especially one that may be vulnerable.
ADOPT A CANDIDATE

send money to a candidate who does not represent you?

Why? So they can "earmark" more of your tax dollars to racketeers in another state (or at least another district?)

If you have money that is burning a hole in your pocket, get involved in a LOCAL race and back a candidate that will actually represent your interests.

Still, its Clinton's fault.

Of course, you should always do whatever you YOU believe is best, don't take ANYONE's word for it.

Speaking from a position of little research, my gut feeling is that this election hinges on Republican turnout, which in turn will be determined by 2 things:

-How badly have they alienated us by treating conservative values so poorly?

-Is the party faithfull willing to let Pelosi and company take over? Impeach Bush, cut & run from Iraq, capitulate in the WOT and turn it into Operation Appeasement?

It is going to interesting. I just hope it is interesting in a good way.

"Novak is descending into self-parody."

He should have a party with McLaughlin, another one on the slope.
