In an Election 2006 conference sponsored by Paul Weyrich and the Free Congess Foundation this afternoon, panelist Robert Novak stated that based on his and others significant research he believed the GOP would lose between 27-30 seats in the House this fall.
Other panelists inlcuded John Fund, Kate O'Bierne and John Gizzy. A replay of the one hour conference can be heard at www.Rightalk.com , which webcast the event. click on "The Right Hour" logo.
That's nuts.
Ridiculous. Not gonna happen. Novak has been drinking the Washington DC toilet water for too long.
Well, I am sure workING there did things to his mind, but he now works at Fox.
I can only spot TWO seats they MIGHT lose---Delay's and Ney's, and last I looked, the Republican seemed pretty strong in Ney's district. Meanwhile, the Dems will almost certainly lose Bean. At worst, -1. At Best, plus three.
I believe we will lose our majority in the house. And it will be a complete circus, including impeachment proceedings, which will then basically hand the GOP the presidency in 2008.
Hmmm. Make it GOP net gains five.
Just when I was getting over his Kerry prediction!!
Pray for W and Our Freedom Fighters
The pubs haven't made much use of their majority the way the dems do. Wonder why?
That would be Tony Knowles. He is a D and has many enviros and other libs from Seattle surrounding his entourage all the time, but he is very moderate and picky as to which development projects he scuttles. He really was in Nam and worked in the oilfield too.
Now if Dick Morris was making this prediction, I would really be worried...
By these assclowns?
Surely you jest.
Maybe Zogby leaked him one of his polls...
Stupid is,as stupid votes.
I do hope that the stupidity of the electoret, has been grossly over estimated.
I have a folder on my computer entitled "Crow eaters" which I've kept since the 2000 election campaign. In it are stored predictions, polls, op-eds, etc., all forcasting doom and gloom for the GOP and Bush. Needless to say, they make for very amusing reading now. This article will now join that collection.
Anyone remember how many seats the Republicans were supposed to lose in 2002? 2004?
This assessment is a few weeks out of date. A spate of recent polls (Hotline, Gallup, WA-8) have shown some movement away from the 'RATs lately.
But on the other hand only one of those guys is Alan Funct.
Novak is full of "Novak"!
