Sanctions are toothless anyway. It's a non-issue. The UN needs to send a perfumed note written in gold ink on silk along with a hundred camels laden with gemstones and gold goblets and 1000 dancing slave girls.

Yes the UN strikes again. Resolutions mean nothing. The only they get serious about is bringing the USA down. Just like the animal muzzies, the UN wants to take the world back in time. It is a lot easier to pull the US down than pull themselves up to the 21st century.

And yet, nobody will blame these pacifist countries when the Shiite hits the fan.
It will all be Bush's fault!

True, but it would indicate that Israel will be letting Iran have it in the near future.

Iran to UN Security Council: Stick your resolutions up your arse.

Pukey of Russia: That's okay let's be friends anyway. Ånd please don't cancel our contracts.

Russia's in cahoots with Iran and so is China. One concern is if Russia or China threatens to defend Iran from attack. The sooner the better for Israel.

That might be. So long as Israel has good intel and knows Iran is not preparing imminently, Israel will wait. But if Israel loses intel contact they might get nervous.

Truely shocking... I mean... I should have seen that coming, but...

Good thing Bush isn't going to do anything about it, because we are chasing all the bad guys in Iraq!

Iraq is a good strategy and it is a 'shit magnet'. That's what we wanted. We are also well situated between our friends Syria and Iran. On top of all that, Iraq did poise a regional threat, was a constant thorn in our side, and Saddam's removal was a great thing for the people of Iraq.

Iraq was a good strategic move and there is no military reason for why we are soft on Iran today. The USAF and USN are hardly under stress because of the Iraq campaign. We politically do not want to truly take any military action. It's politics that's driving the reluctance to act, not military potential. All the talk about we are stretched to thin, bla bla bla is BS. Bush does not want to act and the Dems are using this as just another angle to attack the administration.

I beleive you should be saying - God Dang -> "Russia and China, also long averse to sanctions as a policy tool, have major energy and investment stakes with Iran and could veto sanctions in the Security Council."

You are right Russia and China are the real problems when it comes to helping & protecting Iran -> "Russia, which is building Iran's first nuclear power plant, has traditionally argued that sanctions would not work. Russia and China, also long averse to sanctions as a policy tool, have major energy and investment stakes with Iran and could veto sanctions in the Security Council."

So tell me Freepers is it really wise to be running $200+ Billion a year trade deficits with China and a growing trade deficit with Russia?

Should we be helping to fund these two countries investment activities in Iran??

Should we continue to pretend (fooling ourselves) that they are really are our friends and are good trading partners deserving "Most Favored Trade Status" !!!!!!

We should start bombing Hezbollah, Syria, and Iran. Without warning and explanation.
I loved that part of your post! Outstanding!
