LONDON - An Aer Lingus flight from New York with 239 passengers aboard was evacuated in Ireland Friday following a threat against the aircraft, airport authorities said.
Aer Lingus Flight 112 was evacuated during a scheduled stop at 2:50 a.m. EDT at Shannon airport in western Ireland, said airport spokesman Eugene Pratt. The plane was en route to Dublin.
The threat "came to a police station in Dublin, and referred to some explosives aboard that specific flight," Pratt said. No trace of explosives was found in the initial search.

The "greatest generation" was great because they were not self-centered neuters obsessed with instant gratification. That went for the Soldiers and the civilians. There are a significant number of selfless patriots among this generation, but they are grossly outnumbered. Hopefully there are enough of them to keep the enemy at bay. And hopefully they reproduce faster than the illegal invaders and the rising unAmerican left.
"
Hopefully islam will fall into the dustbin of history just like the loser kids from high school."
demographics indicate that this isn't likely in the next few generations.

Thanks much -- would you post it as a sep. thread here?
Bad does not become good because something else is worse
Then you must be very upset with the state of technology today, what with no telepathic-posting on FR, no teleportation, no inter-galactic travel destinations, ridiculously short life spans, so much disease, etc.
Thank you for giving us such a great, realistic perspective on the situation...And I'll be sure to remember that during our upcoming overseas trip!
Aw shux! Thanks. I feel like I'm getting older and more patient with things like this.....especially the more I research the realities of my forefather's settling and hardships.
Odd. I used to fly to Ireland often, and all Dublin-bound planes stopped at SNN, anyway. Perhaps that's changed.
I always thought 'Aer Lingus' translated as "air tongue".
On my last trip back, 2003, there was a Muslim woman passenger in a black chadoor. Not that many years back, any Aer Lingus passengers in long, black garb would've been a nuns.
Boy that's old...
Wasn't that a song by Cheap Trick; "I Wand You To Wand Me"?

I woke up at 7:47 this AM and decided that was as good of a reminder as anything to pray for all the airplanes coming and going to the US and to our allied nations.
(But I loved it!)
Y'oughta join the good shippin' crew over on the "Undead Thread" sometime; we chat back 'n' forth like that all the time.
This is where we're hanging out for the month of August:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-religion/1667204/posts
We move every month to keep the post count from growing too much. After pushing one thread to 65,535 posts we decided that the "lag" created by so many posts wasn't worth it.
Come lurk and see if our style suits you. Oh, BTW, since we typically take over ZOT threads, our good-natured banter usually doesn't appear until after 100-150 posts, sometimes more.
Actually, the IRA was trained by the PLO which was trained by the Soviets. They all run in tight circles.
Thanks for the reply. I can see that I'll have to dig into this a bit; I'm really unfamiliar with the connections.
...and so am I, I guess.
its probably a lot less old here across the pond.
We dont generally see Aer Lingus flights except those from the UK.
Nice to know I'm not the only one who can't see that name without laughing ...
