Personal responsibility, minimum governmental involvement, supporting the Rule Of Law -- yeah, this guy was no Republican.

But he clearly was a Conservative.

Yea, sure Michael, unless it was Terri.

Something about, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life"

In the absence of any direct statement, or legal instrument to that effect by her, regarding the matter, you should have let her live and let her parents take care of her. Instead, you killed her in one of the worst ways imaginable...dehydrating her to death. Yea...a live ad let live kind of guy.

In fact, Ned Lamont welcomed Michael Shiavo at a statehouse campaign appearance.

Unbelievable. That is beyond the pale. The man works tirelessly to make certain his wife dies, and then is welcomed by a major candidate for U.S. Senate.

Thank you! Those politicians who've chosen to make a huge public issue out of what are private personal family end of life decisions.... have ALL suffered politically as a result.

Most Americans don't agree with and I don't agree with the politicizing of the Schiavo case.

He told Larry King that he didn't know what Terri wanted, but he wanted her to be starved and dehydrated to death.

Smerconish with another liberal spin.

But really conservatives like me were disillusioned by the killing of Terri.

We saw Senator Santorum do the photo op down in Florida.

We saw Congress pass and President Bush sign a law that meant nothing. The courts ignored it like a piece of used toilet paper and had the final say.

And of course the impotence of Governor Jeb Bush who should have taken Judge Greer head on with a state of emergency to deal with saving Terri's life.

The Republicans failed pro-life conservatives like me on this one.

That's the effect of Terri Schiavo's killing. It disillusioned base conservative Republican voters.

It does not strengthen liberal Democrats.

If I were Rick Santorum I would personally call Michael Schivo and tell him "Bring it on."

And then I would make sure that he was there at my personal judgement day to explain to God all the horrible things I did to him and his wife.

So, he supports repeal of smoking bans in private business, Roe v Wade, Private gun ownership without background checks, disbanding CPS and Child Support enforcement, and a whole host of other Liberal schemes that place government right squarely into our lives?

Nah! He's blowing smoke and as any libby, very selective as to when and where the government will interfere in our lives.

I can't imagine that either side would gain anything by revisiting the whole incident. The more that Michael Schiavo puts his nose into these campaigns, the more he's going to look like a ghoul trying to benefit one more time from his wife's death.

I don't like the government getting involved in these decisions either, but when a man is living with one woman and fathering children with her, he's no longer the right man to be making medical decisions for another woman as if he were her husband. If brain-death had truly parted the Schiavos, then the marriage was dissolved and he shouldn't be making her decisions. If they hadn't been parted by death, then he was just a brazen adulterer who could no longer be trusted to do best for his wife.

Yeah, Mike, that's because you wouldn't allow anyone in to visit with her, and needed to keep her isolated behind your curtain so you could have everyone believe that she was a "vegetable," when in fact, she was fighting for her life.

Actually Mike, YOU started this when you went to court to try to secure permission to starve your wife to death so you could get on with the life you'd already been carrying on with your girlfriend, whom you were living wiht, along with the 2 kids you had with her while your "wife" was suffering in a hospice.

Yeah, live and let live, as long as it's not your wife. Then you're a "live and let starve to death" guy.
