O'Reilly used to make some pretty sticky wisecracks with his side-kick lis wiehl that used to make me cringe. They were definitely of the sexual harassment variety if Ms Wiehl wanted to complain, but she just giggled in response.

Also I remember a sexy black woman used to come on his T.V program and exchange good-natured barbs. Even then you could tell O'Reilly would try to push the sexual harassment envelope with her sometimes. But she just giggled also.

So I'm not surprised at the complaint but I notice O'Reilly no longer makes sexual wisecracks anymore.

It's funny. I used to be a liberal, but even then, I LOVED this country, and would get into arguments over its goodness with friends. I saw Pat Buchanan's new book covered on Hume tonight. They all laughed him off, called him racist, paranoid... I disagree with Pat on the ME, but he's right about immigration. You should see my neighborhood. Somedays, the first few people I encounter are NOT speaking English. This, in a rust belt, has-been town...

Sometimes I am so sad about it all. Some things have gone on too long. Funny thing is, if Bush continues to pick conservtive judges, they may help to undo some of the damage done in these years. That's assuming Roberts is not a squishy moderate.

Did you hear Mark Steyn sub for Rush today? He knocked it out of the park - a breath of fresh air.

It was great. I don't normally listen to Rush but MNJohnnie was so nice to send a ping out about him sub hosting and I got up just in time to hear him in Denver--we have Rush on from 12 to 3. I know this is a Savage thread, and I love him too, but I want to nominate Steyn for President of the World. He's my favorite and I hate it that he's only on for few minutes on Thursdays with Hugh Hewitt. Hugh should dedicate a whole day to him. Better yet, go ahead and retire and turn over the helm to Steyn. No that's mean--just give Steyn his own show.

Do you know if Steyn has ever subbed before? I really hope this leads to his own show. Isn't that how Medved got his radio show going--subbing for Rush?

Steyn is great. Hugh Hewitt's 10 minutes or so with him every Thursday, if we're lucky, have never been enough. He's got to get his own show. He's a natural.

You can miss Medved. I'm shocked--very shocked. Though, I had a big dillema today. Sorry Medved but I had to choose Steyn because it was such a rare treat.

I think this was Steyn's first guest-host gig. I think Medved was an occasional sub for Rush, you are right!

The best occasional sub Savage ever had was Jerry Doyle, who has his own show now. Savage's subs for the last couple of years are underwhelming.

Is Medved has a good guest or a good topic, I'm hooked. Now and then it's a topic I'm not too into, so my attention wanders.

I like him a lot, though. As I have said, i consider him one of our smartest hosts, and a very good interviewer/debater. :-)
