As many writers on FSM have made clear, students heading back to colleges in the next couple weeks will likely find extreme ideological imbalance, intense loathing for the military, insane beliefs that would never hold up outside the academy, and attacks on free speech. But if none of that lights your fire, let’s look at two far less esoteric issues: crime and money. Both supply even more proof as to how out-of-step with the real world the academy is.

It appears I've been mistaken in my career choices. I clearly should have become university professor, where I could be a biased, lazy, overpaid, underworked, criminal with questionable hygiene and still get tenure. Unbelievable.

It's not too late! Think how easy it will be to come up with some inane doctoral thesis after having worked for a living for years.

If you are a regular reader at this site you would never get a job at a university today. I know for a fact that MANY university interviewing committees regularly design questions for applicants which will usually ferret out Republicans and Christians should any even get to the interview stage. I have a close friend who tried to get a job at a large university in the midwest. He has a PhD and worked for a number of Wall Street firms. After he was turned down by a business school, he was told privately that some feared he might be a Republican, this particular university didn't want any of those. I'm not kidding.

Indeed. School is a very liberal place--I know, I am still IN school. If these kids had no military to protect them they'd all be dead by now, for one thing. This only proves to show that American education has been reduced to leftist crap and that the Russians and the Chinese are the smartest people out there now. Our enemies are better educated than us. Wonderful.

Teachers complain they aren't paid enough. If you ask me, most deserve the pay they get. If all they can do is spew out liberal communist propaganda and lie to students in the hope of turning them into slaves of the state, why should they even be paid at all?

All you have to do is answer like a harmless, criminally insane, pagan and you're in like Flynn.
