Glenn Beck wants to choke companies to death
CNN Transcripts ^ | August 23, 2006 | Glenn Beck

Posted on 08/23/2006 6:31:50 PM PDT by Dane

Mike Hethmon, he is with the Immigration Reform Law Institute. He`s one of the groups backing the California lawsuit.

Mike, thank you for doing this. I`ve been saying for a long time, "Choke these companies to death." Give me the lawsuit in a nutshell and the chances of it actually winning.

Huh using rhetoric such as "choking these businesses(mostly farmers and contractors) to death" is not anti-business?

So to be pro-business, one must be pro-illegal alien? In other words, you believe that for businesses to be successful, they must break the law and employ people who are not allowed to work and who are not supoposed to be in the country? So to be a successful business, you must also beleive in open borders and loss of sovereignty? No such thing as the U.S.A. any more?

Uh it seems that Glenn Beck broke the law to get his start in radio(i.e breaking under 18 Washington state labor law).

But that's ok. The farmer who hires Jose to pick blueberries is the anti-christ on FR.

Gads, this turd of a thread still ongoing? After three hundred and seventy-something posts on this tread the guy that started it has had nothing to say about the topic he posted on. As of yet he has posted nothing that shows why companies should be allowed to hire illegals without any recourse against them.

Glenn Beck is correct about it being proper that private companies sue those that hire illegals. But he does not go far enough, cities and counties should be doing the same thing. As should school districts, hospital districts and any other entity that has been hit by the theft from illegals. Because the federal government has not been doing it's job. Nor has the states.

Let's go farther and sue Mexico and demand that they pay for the problems they have caused. Better yet, let's give them 3 months to stop people from crossing their border or we ban all mexican imports.

At a minimum we should immediately pass a federal law that states that no person born in the US can be a citizen automatically unless their parents are.

I live in Texas and pay 10's of thousands of dollars in property taxes. A lot of that money goes to support people that are here illegally and are stealing from the taxpayer.

Unfortunately, we have profoundly moronic people like Dane who figure that the rest of us should pay for his idiotic bleeding heart ideas like allowing illegals and the companies that employ them a free ride.

Well you can kiss my a$$ Dane. And so can all the other non-productive people like you. Go over to DU where you will fit right in. All you are doing here is wasting time. You thread here is akin to stepping in a pile of dog $shit and finding you can't easily scrape it off because the dog keeps pooping over and over.

I was in downtown Houston the other day and saw a hispanic kid with a tee shirt on that explain all about how the "gringos" had stolen Texas, etc. from the Mexicans. What a crock! Wait until all these illegals get the right to vote. Heck, if you are white in Texas you are now a minority. We've been forced to pay for our state to be invaded by illegals. Illegals who will eventually have the political power to take whatever they want.

America won't be America in a few years. Because of morons like you Dane.

"And you know they are not paying taxes how?"

1. If an employer will break laws to employ illegals, it's a pretty reasonable assumption that he's not going to pay every bit of tax on them.

2. Even if he did pay every bit of tax, he's still a lawbreaker, isn't he? Extreme example: Yes, I mowed down those schoolchildren, but I was NOT driving recklessly.

3. Haven't heard from on this subject in a day or so--did the van break down, just north of Laredo?

JMO, but Michael O'Shea was implying that he was breaking the law(i.e hiring a teenager(Glenn Beck)(cheap) to fill in the graveyard shift) in the below quote.

Michael O'Shea, the longtime manager of KUBE and now chief executive of All Comedy Radio, says no one pressed the issue of just how old Beck was. "I just assumed he was 18," he says. Beck was "as ordinary as they come" on the air, O'Shea adds, but to KUBE the attractions were that Beck actually showed up and did the graveyard shifts for what the station was willing to pay.

I have no problem with amnesty under the following two conditions.

They agree to a five year stint in the military serving in the ME.

Any who don't apply by the deadline are instantly AWOL and go to prison or are deported.

How am I lying? Glenn Beck works behind a microphone and doesn't get his hands dirty to make a living, and the people attracted to his line of work don't get their hands dirty either and yet he is cheering on a nusiance lawsuit against those who do such evil things such as grow food or build shelter.

The executives at ADM and Cargill don't grow food yet they control 87% of the US Corn crop. They are NOT farmers and should be held responsible for their hiring and sub-contracting of illegals. The administration refuses to enforce the law and close the border because they are beholding to these guys and their payoff will be their continued monopoloy of bio diesel.

Working in radio isn't a hazardous type of job, here are the jobs restricted for those ages 16 to 17 years old:

The only job restrictions for 16- and 17-year-olds are hazardous occupations. Jobs in this category include:

Working with explosives and radioactive materials.
Mining of any kind.
Logging and saw milling.
Manufacturing brick, tile or similar products.
Excavation, wrecking, demolition and salvage work.
Operating power-driven bakery machines, including dough mixers used in pizza restaurants.
Operating power-driven woodworking machines, including circular band saws and table saws.
Operating power-driven metal forming, punching or shearing machines.
Operating power-driven paper product machines, including paper balers.
Operating or riding on power-driven hoisting apparatus, including non-automatic elevators, fork lifts and cranes, and work that involves riding on a manlift or unattended freight elevator.
All jobs in roofing operations, except work on gutters and downspouts, or installing air conditioners or ventilation equipment.
Most jobs involved in slaughtering and meatpacking, and all jobs involved with operating meat slicing or processing machines.
Driving and/or delivery work (As of October 31, 1998, 16-year-olds are no longer permitted to perform on-the-job driving. The minimum age to drive on public roadways as part of employment is now 17. Seventeen-year-olds are not prevented from occasionally using a vehicle to run an errand for an employer. They may do so only during daylight hours, they must have completed a driver's education course, and they must wear seat belts).
Exemptions are provided in some of the hazardous occupations for apprentices and students in vocational education programs.

At the time in question, the law required minor employees to clock out at 9PM so that they could be home by 10PM curfew; it seems to have been liberalized some. However, if Beck was working at KUBE after midnight as a minor, then KUBE was violating the law.

BTW, I had to pay an amnesty on my speeding ticket.

I would have to respectfully disagree. ADM and Cargill are classified as a large scale farming operations.

My guess is, he was probably working weekends as a part-time employee.

So, you are against enforcing laws? Are you against enforcing all laws, or just those that bug you personally?
