Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Harold Ford Jr. is virtually tied with Republican opponent Bob Corker, according to internal poll results released by the Ford campaign.
Rep. Ford, a U.S. congressman from Memphis, leads the former Chattanooga mayor 44 percent to 42 percent in the poll of 1,118 likely Tennessee voters. Thirteen percent of respondents were undecided in the head-to-head matchup.
The poll was taken Aug. 10-15 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.93 percent.

Isn't one of Mr. Ford's rels in some kind of trouble with the law? A state senator, perhaps?
Yeah. His uncle got in trouble earlier this year or last year.
A better question is there one of Ford's relatives NOT in trouble with the law?
What's a Corker?
"Internal polling" is nearly always manipulated to get the result that the campaign paying for the poll wants. That being said, Ford's numbers have improved slightly (from when he was down 12 or 13) and I am inclined to believe that Corker is leading by about 8 points at this point in the campaign.
Who holds the seat now?
Isn't Ford a Representative, or do I have that wrong?
Well, according to everyone that is voting for Corker, he is beating Ford Jr. handily. Sound stupid? Well, so does quoting an internal poll from the Ford campaign to support that the race is a tie. Honestly, this smacks of the same ole same ole from the dems. They put more time and effort in the fictions they tell themselves than in actually doing what it takes to win elections. I am not saying Ford Jr. is going to lose, but honestly, quoting an internal poll, in August, puleeeeeze.
A moderate Republican that's a helluva lot better than Ford Jr.
Since when is an internal poll NEWSWORTHY?!
Ford is a Congressman and is running for the Senate seat being vacated by Bill Frist.
I tune in occasionally to "Anus in the Morning" on MSNBC and he has had Ford on twice in two weeks and he just turns the microphone over to Ford and Ford goes at it for ten minutes. Why would a station give that much political advertising to a Democrat only and not give Corker the same amount of time? I guess its because it is PMSNBC........
Only about 100 of them!!!!
Thanks for the reply.
