A Day in the Life of President Bush - (photos) - 8.22.06

After calling President Karzai of Afghanistan to discuss security measures and a potential visit, President Bush left the White House early this afternoon to go to Minnesota. In Minnetonka, he participated in a panel discussion on health care, and also signed an Executive Order to help increase the transparency of America's health care system - empowering Americans to find better value and better care. The order will require various federal agencies to compile information about the quality and price of health care they pay for, and share that information with their customers and each other. The White House website has posted a FACT SHEET about this order.

The President also attended a fundraiser for Minnesota Congressional Candidate, State Senator Michele Bachman after the panel discussion, and stopped for a frozen custard in Wayzata.

I know exactly what you mean about Laura Ingraham's show... I haven't listened much at all recently for the same reason. Enough already.

"He was on Laura this morning.

I don't listen to her much any more. She's gotten really mean about our president."

. . . same reason I rarely listen to her any more -- she's become the arrogant ELITIST that she's always railing against!

That sounds very similar to a greek dish I had a few years ago but with that was fetta cheese and it was put in a small earthern ware pot and cooked in the oven until the bread was crisp and the juices piping hot. It was lovely.

I don't like chocolate... flame away! lol

That's incredible! I don't think I've ever met anyone who didn't like chocolate. I'd ask you why, but that's sorta stupid, cause you probably don't know why other than you just don't like it.

Please excuse me, I'm in a silly mood.

This job's so serious, it makes one's hair stand on end.

Golly, it's too bad that this president just ... can't connect with Middle America!

Frozen custard vs. frozen yogurt? I dunno ...

***such courage as President Bush has shown is a very rare bird, and it may be a generation before we see its like again in the White House. ***

He WILL be vindicated! We can only hope that it will be because his successor in the WH carries on his work.

Thank you, Dr Deb, for the great article.

Sometimes chocolate bunnies don't even make it to the house. Last Easter I ate the ears and head off mine on the way home from the store.

Hi altura -- I remember that post. Cracked me up. Thanks for the redux. =)

***Another thing with same name but different product what is frozen custard?***

Mine may not be a popular opinion on the subject of frozen custard, Snugs, but it is a cheap imitation of real ice cream. It is soft, squishy, and doesn't have the wonderful texture of ice cream. Otherwise, it's fine! LOL

I don't really know, but it could have something to do with my lousy sense of smell. I find chocolate (aside from not caring much for the taste) to be a little too rich and intense. My sense of smell is awful -- I'm not used to smelling things very strongly and if/when I do, it can briefly nauseate me -- even pleasant smells. The only smells I can easily identify are cigarettes and skunks.

We weren't married very long when one evening Mr.FF came home and immediately got panicked that one of the gas pilot lights went out on the stove, and I hadn't smelled it. He lit it and ran around opening windows, all the while yelling that I could have been killed! All I could say was "how can I know if I don't SMELL it?!"

That sounds yummy, too. I love fetta cheese - it's one of the few I can eat.
