Pat Buchanan says illegal immigration from poor and developing countries will overwhelm the United States and other Western countries in the next 50 years unless something is done. "We've already won the battle with the public," Mr. Buchanan tells The Washington Times. "The question is, when will the government respond?" In his book, however, Mr. Buchanan saves his strongest criticism for President Bush, writing: "Concerned about his legacy, George W. Bush may yet live to see his name entered into the history of his country as the president who lost the American Southwest that James K. Polk won for the United States."

I rarely agree with Pat Buchanan but he is right on this issue. I'm afraid it may be too late to fend off the invasion. Our government is apathetic. Bush deserves the criticism. Folks, it's much worse than you realize. If you live in the southwest, you know what I mean.

Exactly!
Reagan demoted Pat and President Bush the elder, had no use for him. It really was only Nixon, Pat had a bit of power under. And WHO can forget the terrible blunder Pat shoved Reagan into, with that trip to the Waffen SS grave site homage?
Yet some FREEPERS are still standing up for Pat and sneering at the rest of us, who know and see him for what he is.

Buchanan is a dour individual, but if you watched Hanity & Colmes (Bob Becktel was filling in for Colmes), I don't think you would find that much to disagree with.
The subject of the Reagan amnesty came up, Buchanan was a speech writer/adviser at the time. Buchanan admitted he was in agreement at the time, but it was a mistake. He admitted the Reagan "blanket" amnesty has led to many of our current problems.

O'Reilly has an ego, but I can't understand why so many FReepers hate him.Because he's stooopid. He covers up his ignorance with arrogance. Even O'Reilly himself admits that he's "not the smartest guy around" (he says it every show).

And WHO can forget the terrible blunder Pat shoved Reagan into, with that trip to the Waffen SS grave site homage?Probably everyone who is aware that Michael Dever set up the Bitburg ceremony.
Finally you get around to posting a "fact"- and it's wrong. Priceless.

Biden--as in Sen Joe Biden (D). I am afraid he is notorious for having plagerized entire segments of speechs without giving the slightest bit of credit.
In honor of your great new word, that was my attempt at a new "word application".
"To Biden it", as in to use verbatim without credit.

The government is suppose to do the will of We the People
That sounds like insidious socialism to me. I sure don't see it in the Constitution, which has specific enumerated powers granted to the government.

He's been warning us for years, more like decades.
One of the few things he's right about.
Too bad such an important message is coming from such a disreputable messenger.

He's(Buchanan) been warning us for years, more like decades. One of the few things he's right about. Yeah right a person who says that diesel fumes don't kill, is a prophet.
The problem is: Diesel engines do not emit enough carbon monoxide to kill anybody. In 1988, 97 kids, trapped 400 feet underground in a Washington, D.C., tunnel while two locomotives spewed diesel exhaust into the car, emerged unharmed after 45 minutes.
Demjanjuk's weapon of mass murder cannot kill.

When is Buchanan going to prove his theory by shutting his garage door, starting up his Mercedes diesel, and staying in the garage.

You are right that does read like something that the nuts over at Daily Kos would breathe heavy over.
Need to fix that:
The obligation of government is to protect the citizens of this country and that requires control over our borders/screening for threats to national security. Free people of a Republic have an obligation, a responsibility, to remind government of its responsibilities especially when the government is not fulfilling said responsibility.

Like the content or not, Buchanan has a way with words. He can create the cliches before they become cliches.
He can create the spin before there is an issue to spin.
For 30 years he's been a voice in the wilderness on illegals. Finally in the past 2 years the issue has caught up with his rhetoric.

Ah! Yes, now I get it.
Ol PJ Biden (Plagiarist Joe Biden).
Thanks.
