NEW YORK - Pornographic movies now seem nearly as pervasive in America's hotel rooms as tiny shampoo bottles, and the lodging industry shows little concern as conservative activists rev up a protest campaign aimed at triggering a federal crackdown.
A coalition of 13 conservative groups including the Family Research Council and Concerned Women for America took out full-page ads in some editions of USA Today earlier this month urging the Justice Department and FBI to investigate whether some of the pay-per-view movies widely available in hotels violate federal and state obscenity laws.
The coalition also is trying to draw attention to CleanHotels.com, a directory of hotels and motels nationwide that pledge to exclude adult offerings from their in-room entertainment service.

"tremendous damage to families and in particular men."
Which men in particular did you have in mind?

But do they have sex under the sheets? Does the lonely business traveller sit on the bed and stroke or go under the covers? This lonely business traveler usually tries to find a local gal who'll take me to her place. But failing that, I'll refrain from pleasuring myself in a hotel room, as the thought of sleeping in somebody elses..."fluids"... is disgusting.

"The word taliban was not used to describe the govm't."
Well, that was your first mistake. This is from Wikipedia..."Taliban is a Sunni Islamist nationalist pro-Pashtun movement which effectively ruled most of Afghanistan from 1996 until 2001." If you still don't see the difference between a dictatorial government of a country, and the rules of a church in a free country, then I suggest doing a little more studying.
"If the comparison fits, it's appropriate."
See, that adds to my point. The comparison doesn't fit. The only way you would know that is if you did a better job of studying. You sound like an emotional feelings based liberal. Are you sure you wish to stay at this site? I don't mind, but I warn you, you are going to get flamed!
Have fun, I gotta go.
Sincerely

Actually, I've found Motel 6 to be consitantly one of the best hotel chains around. With only one exception, every Motel 6 I've stayed in has been clean, comfortable, and had plenty of hot water in the shower, with plenty of water and pressure! The only bad experience I've had at a M6 was when their hot water was out the night I got in, but it was fixed overnight, and everything was fine the following morning.

These people need to get a life. No wonder I'm a small "L" Libertarian. I hate busybodies from "conservatives" just as bad as from liberals.

For example, you can be fined up to four hundred dollars per curse word anywhere in Texas for cursing in front of women or children. This law has been enforced and held up in court within the last 6 years.Yes, but not by the Justice Dept./ FBI. These are local ordinances and there is no reason whatsoever for the feds to enforce them.

"This is from Wikipedia."Whatever. They're Whahabists and the groups mentioned in the article are OT and Pauline prudes. The commonality is their religious based intolerance of Freedom and desire to encode it in law, so the comparison logically and artistically applies.

Yeah, right.

"You prove it." You can't prove a negative genius.

More of the big government nanny-state "conservatism" that has become so widespread these days.

I hope that post was an attempt at sarcasm.

Without reading the whole thread, I'm really glad the border problem and illegal immigration problems are fixed to that the conservatives can devote resources to this pressing national problem. / s

I travel all the time and the systems I've seen always give you a parental control option. I'm fine with that.
Why do we need a nanny state to protect against lack of character? If you don't like it, don't watch it.
To: Always Right
IMHO, having them turned off should be the default for any room that has minor children registered to stay in them. But who registers their children at hotels?

"Welcome to Marriot! All Rooms Are No Smoking. Masturbation is Forbidden in All of Our Porn-Free Rooms. Check Us Out with Our Complimentary Blacklights in Every Room. Marriot Is Not Just Smoke-Free! Now We're Semen-Free, Too!"
That was very funny. I couldn't stop laughing and my kids now think I am a lunatic!
