"The word taliban was not used to describe the govm't."

Well, that was your first mistake. This is from Wikipedia..."Taliban is a Sunni Islamist nationalist pro-Pashtun movement which effectively ruled most of Afghanistan from 1996 until 2001." If you still don't see the difference between a dictatorial government of a country, and the rules of a church in a free country, then I suggest doing a little more studying.

"If the comparison fits, it's appropriate."

See, that adds to my point. The comparison doesn't fit. The only way you would know that is if you did a better job of studying. You sound like an emotional feelings based liberal. Are you sure you wish to stay at this site? I don't mind, but I warn you, you are going to get flamed!

Have fun, I gotta go.

Sincerely

"This is from Wikipedia."

Whatever. They're Whahabists and the groups mentioned in the article are OT and Pauline prudes. The commonality is their religious based intolerance of Freedom and desire to encode it in law, so the comparison logically and artistically applies.

"You sound like an emotional feelings based liberal."

Yeah, right.
