A people without progeny will not accept a single military casualty. If this generation is the last, there will be no children for whom to sacrifice. Today's Europeans value their distractions and amusements more than they do prospective children. Germany's 2005 birth rate of only 8.5 per 1,000 inhabitants indicates that Europe is following the low variant of UN population estimates. These guarantee the virtual disappearance of the Europeans by the end of the present century. A people without progeny will not accept a single military casualty. Another problem is the high taxation. It drives more and more of the citizenry to look toward welfare as their income.
The outlook does not look good.
Some useful perspectives here, but he doesn't have to make misleading comments about Italian military history.
well, he's not completely incorrect -- the Italians DID get their a$$es handed to them in Adowa (they were, however, vastly outnumbered).
But why he refers to an Ethiopian battle in 1896 as "Italy's last military adventure in the area" escapes me. The Libyan campaign in 1912 was much closer geographically and is more recent. It was also quite successful for the Italians (my grandfather was a conscript in that army - I think the experience strongly encouraged his immigration to the States...)
Italy also briefly occupied part of the former Ottoman territories as a member of a multinational force post WWI.
Not to mention that Italy beat the crud out of the Ethiopians and reoccupied the country in 1936 - 40 years after the battle of Adowa.
"I am the very model of a Secretary General"
Or am I overlooking an exception? Are there any white countries that are culturally life-affirming in their practice and policy?
good article, but semi-obscure title/headline.
It took time for stupid ideas to: (1) gain favor among the elites, (2) become policy, (3)screw up society, (4) fall out of favor, and (5) then for good ideas to become acceptable again. I think we are in the early stages of #4. It took 40 or 50 yrs for the destructive ideas of welfare, multiculturalism, girlie-manism, socialism, etc., to take over and it just might take at least as long for these ideas to find their proper place, thrown down the great big garbage disposal of history along with the rest of the offal of time.
