I think the last time I thought the show was funny was about 1997 or so.

SNL hasn't been funny since the days of Phil Hartman,Dana Carvey, and John Lovitz.

It's got its moments now and then. The vast majority of the time, however, SNL is achingly dull and uninteresting. Calling it a comedy show is a stretch.

Stopped watching in 1993. Nancy Kerrigan was the guest host. It was the most completely unfunny show I have ever seen. I have avoided all the SNL spin-off movies as well. A two hour movie about Tim Meadows "The Ladies Man"? Come on! That skit was filler for the last half hour of the show.
Chris Farley's departure and subsequent death was the final nail. I knew then that SNL would never be funny again. At least I have all the seasons from 75-80 on tape, as well as SNL's next best run whcih was roughly 89-93.
My wife made me watch MadTV with her, and aside from Frank Caliendo who does excellent impressions, the show wasn't funny. It seemed the actors just tried to be louder than each other. It seems they think that the louder you are, the funnier you are.
