Well American troops in Iraq have made tons of friends with muslim families , children etc who could care less about any Jihad etc etc so we do have a definite problem with discerning who is what

Undoubtedly there are good people who are Muslim. Unfortunately, Edmund Burke's quote works for all people:

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."

While evil developed in their midst, the good Muslims either couldn't or wouldn't do anything to stop it. They cannot reform their religion which was founded by a tribal culture and is ill-suited to life in the 21st century.

Even if GW's vision of democratizing the Middle East comes to pass, experience shows that the freed people would vote conservative parties that promote Shari'a law into power.

And what would these democratic Middle Easterners contribute to our global economy? All they have is oil. Large segments of their populations are poor and illiterate (mostly female). Do you really think that we'll be buying Iranian manufactured HD TV sets or Saudi cars?

The only thing they have that makes them superior is their religion - Islam - which tells them non-Muslims are inferior.

They can't join us - they're countries and and people are too far behind. The only thing they can do is to drag us down to their level - by conversion or death. And their religion not only condones those solutions, it requires Muslims to do it.
