"Why didn't he just say that he and this ladies had problems instead of coming up with a misogynist (and apparently untrue) excuse to fire her."

Did you see the interview? It was obvious that he didn't want to trash the lady, even when questioned several times about the other issues. He implied that the mention of Scripture was for legal foundation as she had "gone to lawyers in the past". I fail to see how quoting the Scriptures is misogynist and untrue. Also, I have never heard of a Sunday School teacher being paid, so dismissal seems to be an appropriate word to use, rather than "fired". The later gives the impression that she held a paid position and I would bet that she didn't draw a paycheck.

BTW, I also attend a church which follows the doctrine for a New Testament Church. Women do not teach men, however, we have plenty of women Sunday School teachers. We simply have the men teach the young men and the ladies teach the young ladies. Women are allowed to teach male children, and men teach the married (mixed) classes. But one thing is without question. The pastor leads the church and his decisions are final. You can't have two shepherds leading the flock in two directions.

He could have just fired the lady without commenting on anything, and nobody eyebrows would have raised. However, he decided instead to make an incredibly misogynist comment that was demeaning toward all women.
