WASHINGTON, Aug. 21 — President Bush seized today on Democratic calls for withdrawal from Iraq to make an election-year case that his political rivals did not properly understand the threats to the nation and would create a more dangerous world.
It was the most direct attack Mr. Bush has made yet against the Democrats from a White House lectern this election year, and it effectively marked the beginning of a more outright political season for the president and his aides as they work to help Republicans maintain control of Congress this fall.
The appearance marked an early, pre-Labor Day start to the official campaign season, but it comes as Mr. Bush and his party face the most daunting electoral challenge [blah, blah, blah]

I believe in my heart that the Democrats would trade seeing every American soldier killed if it meant that Bush would be pushed out of office earlier.

I think Bush took it easy on Democrats. Not only do they not understand the threat to the US, they don't understand economics, the constitution, fair elections, socialism, darwinism, education,crime, the environment, etc.
I guess the President didn't have time to go into EVERYTHING the Dems don't get!

One person can only do so much carrying the whole friggin Republican Party. I wish the Republican members of Congress would carry their share.
The entire 'ideology' of liberalism is built on it. It's at the very heart of everything they do.
What's to argue? The 'RATS only want one thing. Their "powah" back! That way they have control of the American taxpayers' wallets and can continue with their Socialist "wealth redistribution" program. The 'RATS could care less about terrorists wanting to kill Americans. Afterall, there are 300 million of us and the Islamos won't be able to kill us all. The 'RATS will trade a few American taxpayers for their ability to steal Americans' money.

The Republicans in Congress lost their testicles after the 1995 government shutdown. They haven't really faught the Rats over anything since then. And when a Republican does stand up, it seems with the help of the Drive By Media, the GOP rank and file themselves throw that person under the bus (Delay) . The only thing that has saved the Republicans and I guess we can only hope agains in 2006 is the Rats themselves and their lack of a plan for anything except blame the Republicans and Bush. I guess the memories of 9/11 helped the GOP in 2002 and 2004 to some extent.
Duuugh if they had any sense they wouldn't even be democrats..
