Didn't Ted Turner once say that CNN had pre-recorded an end-of -the-world news article to put on in case it looked like the balloon was going up for real? They did it as a half-serious thing, because they wanted to be able to beat the competition with the scoop.

I visited my grant aunt and uncle on their farm. They told me that they feed the chickens scratch. It worried me for years that people would cook stuff made from scratch.
