HILL TOPPER: LEADS ALL DEMS IN NEW PREZ POLL
NY Post ^ | 21 August 2006 | CATHY BURKE

Posted on 08/20/2006 6:02:53 PM PDT by Aussie Dasher

It may not be all uphill for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton in a run for president. The former first lady - who already appears unbeatable in her re-election bid this fall - has come out as the top Democratic White House hopeful, according to a Time magazine poll released on the publication's Web site today.

According to the poll - which will hit newsstands tomorrow - Clinton would be the only Dem to make it a real race against GOP favorite Sen. John McCain.

The poll shows a statistical dead heat, with McCain getting 49 percent of the vote to Clinton's 47 percent. The 2-point gap is within the poll's margin of error.

By comparison, McCain would wallop John Kerry by 10 points, and slap former veep Al Gore by 9.

Americans appear to have at long last warmed to Bubba's long-suffering wife. She has the highest favorable rating of big-dog Dems: 53 percent of Americans have a favorable opinion of her. That tops Gore at 49 percent, and former Sens. John Edwards and Kerry at 46.

Edwards, Kerry's 2004 running mate, generated fewer negative reviews than any of the Dems.

Though the poll didn't give a breakdown of red states' vs. blue states' opinions of Clinton, the Time poll proved almost everyone knows her: Only 3 percent of those surveyed said they had no opinion of her.

The poll also found that Dems overwhelmingly describe Clinton as a strong leader with strong moral values, while Republicans view her as an opportunist who'd say or do anything to advance her political career

"...a strong leader with strong moral values..."

Un-fricking-believeable! Anyone who believes that crap is as delusional and dangerous as the murderous, fanatical muslim-islamist-arab terrorists and the horror of islam, IMO.

On CNN the other day...Paul Begala said that if the law was changed, and BILL Clinton could run in 2008...he would win by a landslide.

If that is even close to be true...our country is in a LOT worse shape that I can deal with. YIKES.

I personally know a broken-glass Hillary voter. She thinks that by voting for her, she will be voting for a moderate and a woman of morals and substance.

She is a very young, idealistic, may I say naive voter. She told me a few years ago what a moral person Madonna had become. She changed her tune later have the Brittney debacle. I wonder what it will take this time.

I believe that at least 5% of the men who tell pollsters they will vote for Hillary will not actually vote for her because she is a woman. They will not admit it, but in the privacy of the voting booth, given a choice between a marginally acceptable male candidate and Hillary, they will vote for the man. That includes a lot of the faithful retirees who still vote Democratic because of FDR...

Notice they aren't bothering to pit Hillary against Rudy Guiliani, the only Republican who is certain to kick her ass. Instead we are given "GOP favorite" McCain, who has absolutely no chance of winning the nomination.

"I'm so glad the media has picked McCrazy for us. I can't wait to vote for him..."

Another reason to hate the media... The only thing to make me want to vote for McCain would be ... Hillary.

I find the Media Party more dangerous than the Democrats sometimes!

according to a Time magazine poll

Consider the source -- Lying Lamestream Media, publisher of obviously faked photos, among many other documented "dishonesties."

All I can say is "Run, Hillary, Run!"

Have you read some of the Guiliani threads on FR? They don't want to vote for him either.

a loose coalition of Godless communists, secular socialists, traitors, criminals, perverts, baby killing abortionists, illegal aliens, race baiters, welfare parasites, tree hugging enviro-wackos, pseudo intellectual elitists, and the feeble minded.

Any particular reason you left out Anti-American Past-Tense Peacniks?

You're not trying to cover up for them, are you?

Rudy the RINO doesn't stand a chance to win the nomination let alone the Presidency. You might as well write about McStain.

"The Clinton's bogus marriage is an issue. A biggie and Hillary cannot ignore it because while the mainstream media will try to the internet won't."

That secret service guy who walked in on the Hildebeeste and Mary Steenburgen queering off may resurface. Unless he's been Arkancided.

I am a republican but if McCain gets the nomination I will vote for Hillary. ( Not a threat, just a promise.)

I have been telling all you people who say she cannot be elected that you are wrong. If you don't think she can get the nomination, you are wrong.
