PRESIDENTIAL NEWS OF THE DAY: President and Mrs. Bush are spending the weekend at Camp David. Look for the First Lady to be on the campaign trail a lot in the next few months. Republican National Committee spokeswoman Tracey Schmitt said that Mrs. Bush is a significant draw wherever she goes, and is a critical asset to Republican candidates across the country. According to the RNC, so far this campaign season, the First Lady has appeared at 24 political events and raised $10.7 million for the party and Republican candidates. Last week, she campaigned in Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia.
THE WEEK AHEAD: Next week's daily scheduled was not announced by White House Press Secretary Tony Snow. However, next week the President will visit his family home in Kennebunkport, Maine, for the first time in two years. GWB and the First Lady are scheduled to arrive Thursday at Walker's Point, where they will be spending the weekend with GWB's parents at their summer retreat. The first couple will be in town to attend a relative's wedding, said Tom Frechette, spokesman for the president's father. While at Walker's Point, the President typically goes fishing and golfing.
EXTENDED SCHEDULE:
_ Sept. 7, First Lady Laura Bush will visit Norfolk to attend a campaign rally for U.S. Rep. Thelma Drake._ Sept. 14, President Bush will welcome President Roh Moo-hyun of the Republic of Korea to the White House.
_ Oct. 10, President Bush will welcome President Alan Garcia of Peru to the White House.
Not to worry...it bears repeating! I don't think you were on my very old Dose ping list! :D
I think this is one of my favorites. I'm sure all the naysayers would say it was a publicity stunt, but they're all a bunch of pigs. Not that the truth would sway some anti-American Bush haters overseas even if they saw it. They're idea of a salute is to wave a white flag at a terrorist (e.g. the UN re: Iraq).
Who me?
Great Dose tonight but gotta run. I'm supposed to meet my sister in about an hour. Must get ready. An early good night to all.
Thank you for the link to the "I Believe" song by Brooks and Dunn. It is new to me and I really enjoyed listening to it.

Anat, what a lovely, kind thing to say. Of course, we include you, no matter where you're from...anyone who enjoys our President and prays for our troops is an honorary American, at the very least. :)
Here on the Dose you are an honorary American. Glad you stopped by to post here. :)
Iluvgeorgie, I really like the third photo in the group you posted in #73. I don't recall having seen it before.
That it does, LUV W, that it surely does. :)
