(CNN) -- JonBenet Ramsey's body was discovered on December 26, 1996, in a storage room in the basement of her family's home in Boulder, Colorado.

A three-page hand-written ransom note demanding $118,000 was found on a back staircase leading down from the home's bedroom areas, according to the late Patsy Ramsey.

JonBenet's autopsy report, released by the Boulder County coroner in August 1997, is the main source of what is publicly known about the crime scene. The report included the following details:

I just don't understand.

What I don't understand and what is infinitely more ridiculous than following any particular case in the news, IMHO, is those who notice threads they don't believe to be news, click on the link and then take the time to comment how "this isn't news," etc. I don't understand that at all. But, that's just me.

I've been here a long time and I'm very eclectic in my reading and have noticed for the last few years that a number of the new members seem to be here only to push the envelope and make provocative statements which I find quite tedious and disgusting.

If this case wasn't newsworthy, the press wouldn't be full of stories about it.

As far as I'm concerned, the admins here are doing a poor job of maintaining an image of wholesomeness and serious debate if they don't remind the offenders when the line has been crossed.

>>>Have you ever read the novel The Godfather? Don Corleone's consigliere, Tom Hagen, makes a trip out to Hollywood to meet with the big movie producer. As he's a bit early for his meeting, Hagen witnesses the departure of a perfectly beautiful little girl with smudged lipstick and dissheveled appearance in the company of her mother who shoots Hagen a proud, defiant look.>>>

I haven't read the novel, what is this supposed to mean?

No, never read the book, but fortunately I had an early warning system instilled in me.

As a kid from the late 50's, my mother would buzz my hand with a few quick grips if she saw a degenerate emerging from the bushes in the park. Before long, I'd buzz back.

Yeesh. I never caught that. There are a lot of powerful scenes in the first two movies. One of the most powerful is when Diane Keaton announces that she aborted her baby (in GFII).

No, Bangcock, where he was arrested. He was in a Bangcock jail. Bangcock, while more generally thought of as prostitution in the normal sense, has a thriving child sex trade.

That is to say I'd buzz her before she noticed something not right.

Huh? Georgia is known for having rent-your-kid-out to a rapist as a common theme?

I think he meant Thailand, which is widely known as a "sex vacation" destination for those on the dark side.

The coffin is not a sanctuary.

Agreed.

I suppose escaping notice or fooling historians is some santuary.

Sorry, baby. I'm booked solid. You'll have to settle for a lesser man.

You'll have to settle for a lesser man.

I'd be hard pressed to find one.

If you were a wealthy executive with a dark secret to hide why wouldn't want to go where the selection of pedo fallguys is the greatest. The ties to georgia are less clear.

I heard on the radio that the Ramsays started his business their garage or basement. Wouldn't that have almost certainly been desktop publishing & related computer graphics? One of the tabloids tried to link John to a porn collection but that was quickly dropped. Hmm mm

I can't say that I blame them for not wanting to spend another night in the house where their daughter was murdered, but leaving the state is alittle over the top, IMO.

See if you can rent a copy of "Seven Beauties," starring Giancarlo Giannini. There's a scene where he survives concentration camp by remembering that every bitter woman is like a cup of (Italian) coffee; you have to stir it to bring the sweetness back to the top.

I think the teddy bear is important, too.

Didn't one of the Rocky Mountain News articles state that the professor who was corresponding with Karr via email, had acquired a photo of Karr holding an identical teddy bear????

I have no idea what relevance that comment has to what we were talking about, except to show yourself as a man who dislikes women.

Patsy Ramsey had been Miss. West Virginia in the Miss America pageant, and her sister, Pam, was a semi-finalist the year before. Beauty pageants are a way for Southern girls to make it big. Boys play football, girls enter beauty pageants early and often, so Patsy's grooming Jonbenet to follow in her footsteps andeventually win the Miss. America pageant was what this was all about. However, Patsy had John's money to play with and paid 4000 for costumes, and she hired Jane Powell to give Jonbenet voice lessons! She bleached Jonbenet's hair, had a plate made to fill in the gap from a lost front tooth, tattooed eyeliner on the child's eyelids...basically, Patsy was ruthless. Jonbenet was going to win every pageant she entered or Patsy would know the reason why. She never dreamed for a minute that pedophiles haunted the pageants. But pedophiles look like your next door neighbor, and they hide in plain sight and try to find ways to be around kids. You never see it coming.
