Irish company challenges scientists to test 'free energy' technology [Oh Yeah!]

An Irish company threw down the gauntlet on Friday to the worldwide scientific community to test a technology it has developed that it claims produces free energy.

The company, Steorn (http://www.steorn.net), says its discovery is based on the interaction of magnetic fields and allows the production of clean, free and constant energy -- a concept that challenges one of the basic rules of physics.

It claims the technology can be used to supply energy for virtually all devices, from mobile phones to cars.

Steorn issued its challenge through an advertisement in the Economist magazine this week quoting Ireland's Nobel prize-winning author George Bernard Shaw who said that "all great truths begin as blasphemies".

Sean McCarthy, Steorn's chief executive officer, said they had issued the challenge for 12 physicists to rigorously test the technology so it can be developed.

"What we have developed is a way to construct magnetic fields so that when you travel round the magnetic fields, starting and stopping at the same position, you have gained energy," McCarthy said.

"The energy isn't being converted from any other source such as the energy within the magnet. It's literally created. Once the technology operates it provides a constant stream of clean energy," he told Ireland's RTE radio.

McCarthy said Steorn had not set out to develop the technology, but "it actually fell out of another project we were working on".

One of the basic principles of physics is that energy can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only change form.

McCarthy said a big obstacle to overcome was the disbelief that what they had developed was even possible.

"For the first six months that we looked at it we literally didn't believe it ourselves. Over the last three years it had been rigorously tested in our own laboratories, in independent laboratories and so on," he said.

"But we have been unable to get significant scientific interest in it. We have had scientists come in, test it and, off the record, they are quite happy to admit that it works.

"But for us to be able to commercialise this and put this into peoples' lives we need credible, academic validation in the public domain and hence the challenge," McCarthy said.

The same sort of thing led to Post-Its.

Wolfie, please. This is at least almost as big as Segway. And you are wrong to pooh-pooh this as a physical concept. I have noticed and documented the same effect with the old Kirby vacuum left to me by my sainted grandmother.

When I am finished vacuuming, the Kirby is stronger than ever, and I am totally out of energy. QED, Thomas.

This may be some small underfunded concern. Perhaps they don't have the means to do so. And perhaps they'd rather have someone confirm their theory before it's stolen by someone else.

Look, it's a good question. It would seem the answer is rather obvious. There may be a reason.

I don't think your premise is flawed.

As to string theory, they were "seen", using micro-psi(a form of yoga)80 to 90 years ago by Ledbetter and Besant. They saw atoms, nuclei, quarks, sub-quarks(UPA they called it)by focussing matter waves. The UPA is an involuting/evoluting torus, 2 1/2 solenoid turns thru the core, 3 bright white lines, 7 rainbow colored lines; for your 10 curled up "dimensions" of superstring theory. It was an article in Infinite Energy Magazine, Vol 6, issue 36, 2001 : ESP of quarks. I'm sure they have a back issue you could buy. L & B even discovered isotopes(Ne22)before scientists did........As to acceleration : that's W

P). W

P is deceleration which you CAN feel/sense....as TIME.

Uh... because I said:

"Why do they need the technology to be validated? If it works, just start building batteries or generators using the technology and the market will validate it.

Instead, years pass looking for validation until the "science" falls into obscurity."

Oooooookay. Maybe you missed my point. Since I'm a nice guy, I'll reword it for you.

They claim a great invention. Fine. Build it, market it, and sell it. If it works it will sell - no need for validation from the scientific community. If it doesn't work, their farce is readily exposed. The fact that they are not selling their invention already is very suspicious indeed.

you make it sound so easy, I wish I could borrow your glasses,If they have what they say then what they have done is 100% right,I would suppose that they are working on a limited budget so publicity is the best answer,I saw about 20 years ago 2 shoe-box size boxes,in the middle of a parking lot they were open, the inventor asked for a bottle of water, which was connected to a tube and a 12 volt battery was also connected, the result was from a pint of water 20 minutes of flame. The Company that I represented was interested in buying, but was informed that if they could exceed 50 million dollars make an offer. A lawyer involved in this transaction later said that a sale had been made to a Company who he was sure would do nothing with it.This is my friend the point that I wanted to draw to your attention, with so much publicity if it works its going to be very, very hard to make it disappear

Well, the proper application for the cold fusion would be to subject deuterium saturated palladium sponge [in deuterium atmosphere] to a hypersaturative compression, like from chemical explosion shockwave. One would get an H-warhead on the cheap.......

Welll, Yeah. :^)

FWIW, I like Tesla's Idea, Atmospheric Electrical utilization
....Like a ZOT, for nankind...its' a "somewhat better use" than punishing DU trolls

"Light waves are energy. ... There must be some way to tap it without blowing ourselves up"

The problem is one of power (releasing energy fast enough to do practical work. The only way would be to collect and store the low-level bits of energy that occur in large quanities (like that of sunlight) and then releasing it fast enough to do practical work.

In a perfect world of science the ideal solution would be to design a system that could collect the low-level energy, say sunlight (the free but low power stuff) over a very large area (lets say thousands of square miles) collected over a long period of time (say 6-9 months) using millions of small lightweight battery-like devices.

The devices must be cheap and use only chemicals that are cheap and widely available (water, for instance), and built of very common materials that are also cheap and widely available (LOL dirt, or sand would be perfect!). After they have filled up with the energy they could be collected and sent to a processing facility for conversion and release of their energy.

The storage devices would be used only once, but they would incorporate the ability to use part of their collected energy to replicate dozens more empty devices to be used over the next cycle!!!

Heck, since we are dreaming anyway, lets make it so that we can eat them as well!! Why not?? And also build houses from them!

No scientist would even dare dream up such a wildly exotic technology because it would be just too incredible to think possible.

wow!!

Good thing, then, that God went ahead and designed it for us.

yeah too bad.

oh, BTW, what was this all about??

also, from RESIDENCY MAGISTRATE'S COURT

"Annie Bensant said that Leadbeater defended himself by saying he was only trying to teach them the value of masturbation as a way of letting off steam, and of bathing the full body, naked, and not with a loin cloth on.

"For we find that although Mrs. Besant at first condemned the practice and said in effect that in this respect Mr.Leadbeater was insane, yet subsequently she supported the Leadbeater practice of carefully selecting boys who were satisfactory subjects for receiving instruction in the practice of masturbation."

  1. build a working model
  2. Have it generate electricity
  3. Sell the power and make money
Until they can show that they are accomplishing the above, I'm not interested

Well, I wouldn't know how strange Ledbetter and Bezant were, the FACT remains that they discovered, via micro-psi, Neon 22, ie, isotopes, before mainstream science did. This is the mistake many make in looking at new ideas, beware of your own mental filter, of knee-jerk thinking you know it ALL. That's a sophmoric attitude as well described by an old black librarian(40 years as such)in re to young blacks : so quick to judge, so slow to learn......You see, new ideas are naturally resisted as the body resists viruses : ignored, immune-fought...until, IF the idea is good enough you've got EINSTEIN, and a new DNA for science. But most new ideas are right-brain-crazy, and if everyone ran after every new idea, socity would be CHAOS; thus the intellectual defense mechanism of rejecting ALL new ideas. This was clinton's problem : running after EVERY new idea = going nowhere. This is why you have an engineer-left-brain : to filter out what is wheat and what is chaff in the reports of Ledbetter and Bezant, to do otherwise is intellectual laziness.
