Death row inmate Samuel Flippen was executed early Friday for the beating death of his 2-year-old stepdaughter 12 years ago. Flippen was pronounced dead at 2:11 a.m., state Corrections Department spokesman Keith Acree said.
Gov. Mike Easley denied a clemency request from Flippen's attorneys after state judges and the U.S. Supreme Court rejected arguments to stop the execution.
Here's how absurd Flippen and his attorneys got as his time started running out.
Andrea Yates killed 5 children and got a free ride. Our legal system is crazy to give crazies like Yates a free pass. To let them avoid execution
North Carolina ping.
Surprised he got the death penalty in the first place. Usually you can do in a child and be out in a few years.
Why at 2:11 a.m.?
Why not 9:p.m. on prime time t.v.?
This guy's a liberal, but he makes some similar points.
